I dont know tooo much about computer parts but i think i managed to put together a rig that would run anygame and it still costs 1454$ even without a Monitor,Speakers,Keyboard,Mouse and some standard stuff.

um I am a little confused but if you go on newegg you should have no problem building a good computer for $700 (8600 GT, 2 gigs of ram et etc) though it has been a while since I have been on newegg so I will go and check.

If you really pushed it you might, might just be able to squeeze in a 8800 at $750.

Well everything looks good on the list besides the Power supply and gfx card. Go for the 8600 gt 512mb, crysis will use it, also get 2gb of ram and a that 600 watt psu and you should be fine. Here a updated list for you. http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/store/configurator.aspx?mid=119#header TOTAL: $847

My choice would be newegg or tigerdirect for the parts and put it together myself, but the op might not be able too.

A 8600GT can't make use of 512MB of RAM. It has a 128-bit memory bus.

8600GT is ripoff wheter its 250MB or 512MB,a X1950GT for $115 is much better value, unless you have a Pre-built PC with a POS PSU...

$700? I'll attempt to build one, but it won't be easy.

Alright, here's the best system I could build for a little over $700:

Cooler Master Centurion 5 $50

Corsair 450VX $80

Gigabyte GA-P35 $130

C2D E4400 2.0GHz $126

Corsair XMS2 2GB $105

SAPPHIRE Radeon X1950PRO $137

WD Caviar 250GB $68

LITE-ON Black DVD-ROM $17

Total price on newegg comes to: $712.93

Only thing not included is OS. I'm confident that system would run Crysis on high settings, DX9.

With AA off the 8600 gt beats the x1950 pro by an average of2-5 fps at 1024x768. Plus 8600 gt has Dx 10 which the x1950 doesnt. So why spend money on a dx 9 card now, and a year down the road you got to buy a dx 10. Also a 8600 gt is better than that 8400 the OP selected on his list

Of course you can overclock that E4400, but I'd go with an AMD 6000+ X2 and a cheaper motherboard over that. There's also always the option of getting an El Cheapo AMD X2 along with a X1950XT.

Oh, there are certainly alternatives, such as the ones you listed, those are just some components I rounded up quickly.

Yeah, there's a surprising ammount of things you can get on such a low budget. It really goes to show that the people in System Wars who say, "You need a PC costing $2000 to play Crysis", have no idea what they're talking about.

Give me LEGIT proof that the 8600GT pwns X1950Pro @ 10x7 without AA,otherwise, drink a warm cup of STFU.

And Dx 9 WILL be supported until late 08 at the very earliest.

Extreme-Performance INTEL CPU Cooling Fan System Kit (processor cooling)
MSI P35 Neo-F P35 Chipset w/7.1 Sound, Gb LAN, S-ATA, USB 2.0 PCI-E MB (motherboard)
2048MB [1024MB X2] DDR2-800 PC6400 Memory Module (memory)
Video Card Undecided but if the price goes down then
Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS 320Mb (depends on price)

First of all, never use the PSU that comes with the case, purchase one from Corsair or OCZ. Secondly, are you getting an 8800, or an 8600? If you're using the 8800, I would give it around two to three years from 2008, but there's really no way of telling.

Power supply, in your case the 420W. It's never a good idea to use them, as they're cheap and could die on you. Also, 420W is a little low if you plan on powering an 8800, I would go with 600, just to be safe.

Oh alright thx for the heads up.

So with the 600 watt power supply and 8800 it ends up being 1000$ from that site, is that a good deal? or is ther somwer else wer i can get it cheaper but its like reliable place

Its way cheaper to just build it yourself and your going to get ripped off if you don't FYI.
