depends on the resolution, but the 5850 and i7 will handle 1680x1050 2AA all very high easily.

If you want to view the frame rate in crysis either:

1. Add: "+r_displayinfo 1" (minus quotations) after Crysis.exe" with a space of course.

Example:

blah\blah\Crysis.exe" +r_displayinfo 1

or

2. Type "r_displayinfo 1" in the console

I use MSI Afterburner and I have the monitoring information checked to show on the lcd of my Logitech G15.

As someone else mentioned, you may use Fraps

Now THAT's why you are getting such high frame rates. Try playing at my 1920x1200 and that 5850 will play at 30 FPS :P (you'd need a new monitor in order to do so). Increase the resolution to the monitor native resolution to get best image quality (I think 1600x900?).

No 20 inch monitors have a native resolution of 1600 x 900 :D

No 20 inch monitors have a native resolution of 1600 x 900 :D

That would be true for widescreen monitors with a 16:9 ratio.

You don't need very high AA if you have high resolution. Personally I can't notice a difference between x4 and x8 when it's on 1680x1050; and I can't notice a difference between x2 and x4 when it's on 1920x1080

I usually use the proper in-game console command, though if there is no such thing, there's FRAPS and other similar utilities that can provide a framerate overlay. However, I usually judge by feel. There's a distinct quality to the movement in a game above 60 FPS compared to below 60 FPS, and if it drops below, I find it rather jarring. This is why I am usually so insistent in getting at least 60 FPS average, if not minimum. (That, and for the longest time, I was playing 1990s-era games on 2002-era hardware, which could easily pull that off.)

That makes two of us :D It does depend a little on the monitor size though... a 22 inch at 1920 x 1080 looks pretty sharp without too much AA, while it's much more obvious with for example a 24 inch.
