I've been playing the multi-player of BF:BC2 a lot more than I usually do this week and I'm loving it. It's got me wanting to play more FPS games on PC, which brings COD: MW2 to mind. How does its MP compare to BF:BC2's? Is it more or less balanced? Also, how do the visuals compare?

Both blatant console ports with a massive lack of developer support. Soon to be followed by a chimera of the two: Medal of Honor which takes the most console ADD tastic portions of both games and slams them together for an instant gratification gasmic crapfest..... keep your money in your wallet and spend it where you will see Dev support. Dont buy shoddy console ports...

MW2 is ok, but I found that I got frustrated with it far more. In BC2 when you die it isnt usually because of some uber weapon but rather because you did something wrong. In MW2 you normally die from someone spamming tubes, tac knifing, or something like dual g18's.

How does MW2's pacing and controls feel compared to BC2's? More or less clunky?

I dunno, I still prefer MW2's gameplay. It has better weapons handling and hit detection in my opinion.. I always found BC2 to feel weird, and especially on normal mode some of the weapons take a surprising amount of bullets to kill people. Which is why I have a platinum star with the Gustav :) I also like the map layouts.. a lot of places to duck and cover and move around behind. Spend a few minutes in the same spot in BC2 and all the buildings and walls are gone, and all you have left is open field and some rocks that aren't big enough to give you cover.

It's easy to get frustrated with MW2's hackers, or host quitting, or lag, which you will encounter regularly.. but generally the experience is quite good. And all the unlocks and weapon upgrades are so much more intricate than BC2. Even getting things like new titles and logos adds to the addictive fun of the game.

LOL. This really made me laugh. However, this isn't much of an annoyance for me since I'm always moving around. I never stay in the same spot for more than a few seconds. I sweep one building and then move to the next; I'm always hunting for my enemy, so cover isn't something I really worry about.

I got tired of MW2's P2P system. The games fun, even with the hackers, tubers, G18'ers, and whatever else everyone else complains about. It's addictive and just fun. But I got tired of waiting three of four minutes to find a game (no dedicated servers, MW2 uses a console P2P system, matchmaking), only for the lobby to close, and I have to start over again. Or for it to throw me into a game a minute away from being over, and my team being losing by a long shot. It's just frustrating knowing that IW.Net is just d***ing around when if it had dedi's I could have been playing 10 minutes ago, with admins to kick hackers to boot. Not worth it imo. Get CS:S.

Hackers are really that big of a deal in MW2? That's horrible. Today is the only day I've even heard of hackers in BF:BC2. I saw about two people get kicked from a match for multi-hacking, which I don't know of. What is Multi-Hacking?

Yea, I have to agree. Even though BF:BC2 may be a console port, it's a damn good game. I really love the multi-player.

BC2 looks A LOT better.

MW2 is a console port. BC2 is a polished multiplatform game.

MW2 Multiplayer sucks. FIlled with hackers, $15 map packs, no dedicated servers or custom maps or mods.

Agreed! But on point I enjoyed both games, I do however like BC:2 quit a bit more from a multiplayer perspective. Outside of both being FPS games, they play differently. You should really just catch MW2 on a free-to-play weekend and see for yourself.

short summary for you. I own both games, BFBC2 is the better game by far and here's why:

-its cheaper in price

-better gameplay

-better graphics

-people actually work together (using mic's etc)

MW2 is full of hackers and is pretty poor in general..Although I must say that I DID enjoy the singleplayer in MW2 than BFBC2..You will enjoy BFBC2 if you decide to buy it

I already own BF:B2. I was simply considering getting MW2 so I'd have another modern war style FPS to play.

Check out CoD4: Modern Warfare. It came before MW2 and WaW, but it is still highly populated and had dedi servers. It's also modern, although I'm not sure if you mean age or setting when you say modern. Either way it's both lol.

I would say that the controls for MW2 are a bit more streamlined and the game is faster paced.

If you don't have CoD4 but are consider MW2, GET COD4! It's way better, and has custom maps and mods. And WAY less hackers,

Less balanced, but if you can overlook the overpowered killstreaks and find a game that insn't a campfest it can be alright. But BFBC2 is better IMO.

Neither game is balanced. And in my opinion MW2 has better graphics, BFBC2 just has way to much bloom and the textures aren't all that great.

If you are willing to put up with hackers and no dedicated servers, then get MW2. If thats not your thing, and you are still looking for a mindless shooter, then i say get cod4.

MW2 = to easy, feels like a kid arcade game, gets boring, to much run'n'gun BFBC2 = better gameplay, more teamwork, actually playing for something (unlocking guns, medals, ranking up etc)

For MW2, you do have something to play for as well, which is unlocking guns, ranking up, getting titles/emblems, etc.

I like MW2 alot better, I hate FPS with vehicles, and FPS which require team work. I like to lone wolf 95% of the time.
