Topic. I have the FX-62 but I got it last year and was wondering how it compares to today's processors, such as the Q6600, E8400, and the Phenoms (game performance-wise).

It is alot slower than all of those. It's basically the same thing as an X2 5600+, but on an older stepping (F2, instead of F3). I would say the e8400 comes close to being twice as fast as it. But the FX-62 isn't a bad processor by any means, and should last for a while longer.

Also, the Q6600 isn't that much faster for most applications. It has 4 cores though, so for multitasking and some apps made for over 2 threads (mainly productivity programs), the Q6600 will smash the FX-62.

Hm... that makes me kind of sad. At least I can max Crysis with DX10 tweak. I will prolly end up getting a Q6700 soon through.
