So, how good really is Fallout? I had no idea it was free on GameTap, so I just downloaded it a couple hours ago. Since I can't play during the weekdays, I can't wait till the weekend comes and I want to know what to exactly expect.
expect one of the deepest rpgs of all time, in which you get to make myriad of choices which impact the world and in turn impacts your play, turn-based combat that can get pretty exciting once you get your hands on some good weapons, and npcs that are totally unique from each other and are very interesting to get to know. in short, expect one of the best games of all time. but do have the patience to get through the beginning stages of the game; it can get tedious fighting rats and scorpions, but the game gets really good afterwards.
I got the Fallout Collection about a week ago and it really is great from what I've seen so far. Best RPG I've played yet. My only problem lies with the time constrants imposed upon the player in the first one as I feel rushed and it doesn't seem like I can fully explore the game. Fallout 2 however is gold and Tactics is kinda meh.
It's a great game, definitely worth playing. The story is meh, character development is meh, but it all comes together in a great package with awesome combat for it's time. What other game lets you shoot the opponent in the groin and have them respone with... "MY GROIN IS THE GROIN OF FIRE"
it's good enough whenever the topic of greatest CRPG being brought up among gamers, it's a defult candidate.
however must note that this kind of discussion pay most attention to role-playing depth and gameplay and pretty much disregard the importance of graphics, voice acting, cinematic feels, streamline gameplay that makes gamers life easier and such things.
