AMD athlon 64X2 Dual core processor 2.90GHz

2gb ram

320gb

Window Vista

256 ATI Radeon HD 2400 pro

Im going to get NVIDIA® GeForce 9800GT. Is that good. Will that be able to play far cry 2 and fallout 3 on high- meduim graphic. Would i need to change my PSU as well? this does sound nooby, coz i am.

9800GT is great at 1680x1050 and below. Okay at 1920x1200. Crap at anything higher.

its good, but i would get a 4850

i had 2x 9800GT's in SLI but SLI is what i thought it would be
so i got a 4870

9800GT is also the same as the 8800GT but with just some 9 series features

if your on a budget a 9800GTX+ is also a good card

lol fallout 3 Require high graphic right ? like Farcry 2 almost or so so it should play fine on 1280x1024 :D
with a cpu 55% less strong then wolfdale cpu of intel at 150-200$ by 55% + i mean like if someting give 100fps on a 150$ cpu ur will give 45-60fps

on high tough ? without lag not sure on higher then 1280x1024
but im sure it would work on 1280x1204 2.9Ghz Ahtelon is 45fps behind E8400 Overclock to 3.6ghz
which mean it sure iwll lag sometime maybe but tough it with a 9800GT so. 2.8x less power then 280gTX
http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=775&p=3
and you can compare COH to Fallout 3 Power Requirement for high
there no REview of Fallout 3 game performances for a reason it not yet Release and then some website like hardware cannuck
get ther ehand on it and do a cpu / VIDEO card Benchmark list Because according Several REview ur cpu could lack you of easly 30fps 45fps behind that make a differance of having fun and seeing all smooth or not but you'r on pretty budget
you are having really low money for pc so just letting you know what ur resolution ? if it 1280x1024 you shoudl be fine
higher then that you will suffer cause a 4850 which is techicnaly almost Two more like 1.5x to 1.7x 9800GT even suffer on most of new game with a Q6600 @ 3.0ghz for 1680x1050 and by new i mean 2008 Q3 / 2009 Q2 Games

I'm not god just letting you know amd is left behind since 2-3 year with benchmark when we not talking of phemon black edition9950 am2+ 3.0GHZ @ or newest shangai am3

well ill expect his processor to struggle more then a 4850 or 9800

and recommended for far cry 2 is only a 8600gt...and the recommended processor for amd is 64x2 5200+

btw what reso you planning on?

recomamnd that if you play low / medium on 1280x1024 you know that Requiremetn on box are just hypoteical they mean it will run not that it will get higher then 25fps remember that. they do that so people buy overpriced pc at dell.com and belive it okay
it a face of the world let me tell you taht Wc3 SAY not any stronger then P3 900mhz for max Requirement with 512 meg of ram
on XP and it was lagging. in some UMS/custum map such as dota / night of the dead II does of Lack of ram / cpu / video card so i changed just ram to 2GB + a better video card ffom gEfroce 4 to 5700LE and the game loaded 10x faster on same cpu and ad no lag :D

same happen with box the only way to know really a game is by is Benchmark without it it just sweet talk
If they say minimum = it won't load under can you run cryiis on p4 1.2ghz at all low yes.. with a 5100 Geforce but it will crash often and lag like hell but when they say recommnded now you get all Lost Id say Recommand = no lag. or a Third Information on the box : Low End Graphic : medium end graphci : high graphic but that would be making a box too big. it why benchmark exist

a 4870x2 + 1680x105 all mazed out aa / AF out far cry 2 + Q6600 3.6GHZ OC = 60fps
just a show how hungry is the game
http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,663817/Reviews/Far_Cry_2_GPU_and_CPU_benchmarks/?article_id=663817&page=3

and much more game like that will offer high setting as this u'r not forced to play it all high but you want too. you want to see Every potential of the game so lowering resolution to achive it can be a solution

Yep that what i said. and stronger is the video card more it revelent of the slowdown
id get 9800GTX+ instead of 9800GT so it can match a 4850 stock or he coudl geta 4850 instead
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2008/10/03/his-radeon-hd-4850-iceq-4-turbox-512mb/7
but if he think of upgrade pc & mobo then id get the 9800GT probabely and just upgraidng the cpu / motherboard if really that restricted budget

your not being rude at all, remember we are here to help nothing else :) a 9800 could but dont expect to be playing it full settings smooth fps and all but if you could, get a 4850 or something similar. 4850 should be about the same price...

high ? you need to be playing on 1280x1024 sorry mate you'r not rude at all so neither i am. we talking about hardware
yeah that what he should get better video card and probbeyl afterward if you can get more money a better cpu / mobo that around 200$ for someting far better then you and 300$ for kick ass
fall out 3 / Far cry 2 / newest game with ihgh graphic is no mystery they require lot of power even a strategy game as COH did Require quite lot for a strategy game with loady SFX : we could expect demigod to require quite a lot of huge power to run on higher then 1280x1024 at max settings demi god is gonna be good i bet :D anyway i'm looking into all that
if i could say you someting if you are in the possition to get more money soon then get a better video card to support 2009 if you seek high gaming higher then 1280x1024 or even 1280x1024 with a such low cpu as you'r
