It is definitely good, but I'm having a really hard time getting into the characters and the story. Its.....typical medieval. Maybe I just don't like that era.

KOTOR and Mass Effect are easily better.

Well, Dragonage HAS a TOOLSET ;) Id place it somewhere between BG2 and NWN, it often feels like what NWN was supposed to be, but with a somewhat akward RP system...

I generally like it a lot more then I liked the campaigns in NWN (Somewhat tied with the SoTU). No MP does mean that one of the better aspects of NWN is not preassent, but the campaign is alot better made, and the character sometimes get this really strange air around the, like they had in the BG series. (altho a bit more cliché-ish on the surface)

I think it is just about the best rpg they put out since the NWN games... I really like it. Altho the mainquest is steriotypical and youd swear you can see "Trademarked for LOTR" on atleast half the areas/monsters.

Underneath the Lore, and gameworld are fantastic, I really enjoy it alot (apart from that ghastly mage tower, the idea of playing through that a 4th time gives me the shivers).

Between BG2 and NWN. It's so friggin amazing, although you can't really beat BG2 and Planescape: Torment.

Going by your chart Id put it slightly below NWN1. DAO has a better single player but stellar multiplayer, great toolset (and I love the D&D setting) makes me set NWN1 higher.

I'd easily put Mass Effect last in the list. In was very short, leveling was extremely dumbed down, and a premise that was essentially a total ripoff of Star Wars. It seemed unnecessary to me rather than just making another KotOR game.

this is as bad as a thread about Bioware releated games vote, however, that thread at least stated "Bioware related" games. why put Bioware and Black isle together? they are not the same group of people. NWN2 and KotOR2 are made by Obsidian.

just as my advice to the guy who created the Bioware related thread, stick to Bioware games, especially your subject line indicated such.

personally, I think DA:O is the best Bioware work since BG2, and so, it's below BG2, BG1 but above KotOR, JE and ME.

Planescape: Torment, Neverwinter Nights 2 and K.O.T.O.R. 2 aren't Bioware games.

I think Dragon Age: Origins is better than any other Bioware game but Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn.

I'm finding Dragon Age hella generic and hard to get through.... I'm lying to myself saying that I'm taking a break from it to justify the purchase of DD edition but in reality I'm probably never going to play it again.
