How is this AMD budget build?

I have the 650W TX it is by far the best part in my rig

I was thinking about getting the OCZ Stealth XStream 600W PSU (good value for money), but I'll look into the Corsair PSU aswell since I have alot of respect for the brand.eVoInSaNe

looks good, but I would just spend a tad more and get a 4870. a 512mb 4870 > than a 1gig 4850, and the price difference will be minimal.

Get a 4870 and look into the 710 X3.

You can buy a cheaper generic PSU IF you do your homework first. Newegg lets customers leave comments, and it can be a very usefull tool for finding a reliable PSU. Check your wattages, check the number of rails, check the amps per rail, check customer reviews, if all checks up you will be fine. Bigger name brand *normally* means better quality. But I still eat Western Family Corn Flakes because they taste the same and are cheaper :)

Get a 4870 and look into the 710 X3.

Go with Phenom II x3, you might be able to save some cash moving away from the Dominator and going

with OCZ or G.Skill

Its just a crap shoot right now with Dual Core and (x3) Multi Core CPUs with gaming, but it will help with photoshop and video editing. . Antec 300 case might restrict you with a bigger cpu cooler, but I haven't seen the specs for it.

Save your money on getting OCZ, Kingston, Crucial, and G.Skill ram and use it towards a CPU cooler.

If your not going to Crossfire then you PSU is overkill and you can save some more money dropping down.

What resolution are you going with on your monitor?

I just put together a nearly identical budget PC last friday and it runs GREAT. I got the exact same mobo, CPU, and case. I also got an older 4850 512mb in there and 4gigs of gskill ram. I went with the antec 500w powr supply since there was a special combo deal, I figured 500w would be enough to power it.

You might wanna pick up 2-3 more fans for the case, just make they are 120x25mm. I picked up some that were 38mm thick and they didn't fit in the front fan enclosure.

Today I'm gonna try unlocking the extra cores on the 550, just waiting on UPS to drop off my "Dark Knight" CPU Cooler.
