With technology constantly updating, how long will it take for this card to be obselete. How long will it take until computers with this card will have to run games at medium or low quality?

High end GPUs are usually productive for about a year, correct me if I'm wrong.

8800GTX is already out for nearly 2 years and it still can run majority of the games at max settings.

Of course, take into the put that developers may start making games too graphic insentive(Crysis anyone?) then we will see the 8800GT being put down in a couple of months time. If not, you will have a fairly strong card until 2010 easily.

SSJBen

Sorry SSJBen, the 8800GTX was released just a year ago, iirc it was released midst October, early November, aaand Crysis is something you should not consider for benchmarking, as imho crytek thinks playing games at less than 10FPS is reasonable lol (Minimum requirements = 6800GT anyone?). Anyway, I have a 7950GX2 and I run most of the games games released in the past 3 months @ full settings, or at least on high. But yeah, I agree with SSJBen, 8800GT offers you a great performance for a low price, that'll surely last you for at least a couple more years if you don't mind playing on mid-low settings in the future.
