How long you think it will take for Halo 3 to come to PC

Dunno.

I'm getting it for the 360..but if it's anything like Halo 2: I'll play it for a week or so, get bored with it, and hardly ever touch it again. The only thing that justified the purchase for me was Co-op.

I'm really hoping the multiplayer doesn't suck this time around. Ray Charles could pull off a headshot in Halo 2 with those enormous hitboxes and absurd aim-assist. The game's weapon balance was laughable, too.

Edit: Oh, and I'm not some random Halo hater..I loved Halo: Combat Evolved's multiplayer. 'Twas almost the only reason, initially, that I even owned an Xbox. Bungie just ruined the second game, IMO.

It could possibly be a year or two from now, 2008-09

Again... people dont seem to stop rating halo 3 based on their conception of halo! I dont understand how even they cant see the lack of intelligent thought in doing so! Halo 3 may not be as impressive as crysis etc(ok, quite far off) but i bet itll be a similar amount of fun.

Hopefully itll be sometime next year, maybe holiday season as the guy above said. If they take much longer, the only people who'll buy it will be fairly hardcore fans of the series, like me. And that will piss me off, because therell be so few people playing it, just like halo 2 pc.

Have any of you played Crysis?I have played in the 4th batch of the IGN/Fileplanet beta and i can tell you that the games is just like Halo 3 (also played in the beta).Its just a different theme with guns cars trucks and stuff.But Halo 3 you dont need a 800-1000$ computer to play it and still look good.There is no way in hell you can say crysis is better than halo 3 becuase there the same game with a different theme thats all.But the Graphics in crysis are killer but you need at least a 8800 and a 3.0GHz core 2 duoor aQ6600 it run it at a good frame rate on all high settings and even then you only get 50-60FPS on avg.But its still was only a beta the proformance may get better.But if you do plane of buy crysis and you have anything less than a uper mid to high end dual core and a 8800 you can forget about max settings.

Looks like it might be that long for Crysis too! Although I'd rather they delayed release of a good, well optimized game than rush a bag of s**t out.

Actually I own a decent PC and I care about Halo 3 alot more then Crysis. Besides the type of people that are hardcore PC fanatics are the people I would never talk to in real life anyways, so its not a loss to me.

You know what? I love PC FPS. I'm a PC gamer mainly because i can't afford to game on every platform so i decided to stick with PC. I love PC FPS but if tomorrow they announced Halo 3 coming out on PC, well i'd be happy too. The Halo series is a good series. Regardless wether it would be on the PS3, XBOX360,Wii or PC. Anyone who claims tol ike gaming should be able to recognize this. But no, it has to be about how Halo 3 sucks because it's not a PC FPS (and yes i know console gamers are guilty of the same thing). I guess i could understand if anyone who's so into thisplatforms war thing would be like 13. But i know the truth to be different.

Let's face it, if everyone could afford to game on every system, they would. And if they didn't, well they'd be pretty stupid. I mean if i had a million tomorrow i'd buy every system with every good games that's come out for each of them. Wouldn't you? Cause if you wouldn't then im guessing you don't like gaming so much. Basically people hate on good games that don't come out on their systems out of jealousy more than anything. If Halo 3 had came out on PC at the same time as the XBOX360 version most PC gamers wouldnt be attacking it. (Only PS3 owners :-p) Im sure if Bioshock hadn't made it on the PC people would be all "who cares about stupid Bioshock? Crysis is where it's gonna be at"

Not to say that there aren't people who probably dislike Halo for genuine reasons that have nothing to do with what system it's on (nevermind who publishes it). But i have a feeling that's not a majority.

Ill be the first to say that the halo games arent the best ever created (thats such a stupid claim - its fully personal opinion), but theyre good games that appeal to a lot of people. I dont like the counterstrike games, for numerous reasons. But, the sheer number of people playing them tell me that they cant be bad. Its just unfortunate that so many people forget that opinions are not (necesarily) facts.

I mean, cmon, comparing halo 3 and crysis? Why? Also, how? I bet few (if any of us) have played even 1, let alone both...

seriously, this may sound harsh, but you are on a PC forum, odds are, the people you talk to here including me have good gaming rigs, and halo is trash when you have so much else to choose from.

If you don't have a good gaming rig, get an x360 and halo3 will be awesome on the controller, i bet.

Seriously, I've been waiting for the good pc games to come out, and while waiting I fell into my own trap of being impatient and buyign an xbox360 since what its known for is its "solid selection of games". Right, I haven't turned my xbox on in 3 weeks and its just sitting there with all the expensive attachements I bought for it, waiting for me to turn it back on and get RROD, while I'm playing the awesome pc games ive been waiting for such as TF2 beta, Crysis beta, World In Conflict, Medieval TW2 expansion, quake wars, and soon, Call of Duty4 ...WITH 32 PLAYER SERVERS.

Again, I should've just waited.

On PC Halo was bad game(compare to Doom or Quake or .... Duke Nukem3d) Halo 2 is even worst ( just play it on PC and find one good thing, only one good thing in whole game). So why PC gamers should want Halo 3 on PC ?? Why ?? I don`t see why so maybe I am blind ;) We will have so many good FPP-s on PC, even better than on Xbox 259 "Gears of War" - new engine, long story and of course better control. So who needs Halo 3 on PC ??

See, thats where that thing called 'opinion' comes in. Yours is fair enough, but please dont state it as fact. My computer gaming friends and i love to have a good lan, we play fear, far cry, call of duty 2 sometimes, quake 3 every now and then(:P), and a couple of us are pushing for half life 2 :deathmatch and i just got starwars battlefront 2. We also play a lot of halo, its as much fun as any of the others. I dont bother comparing them, or picking a favourite ; i enjoy aspects of all of them.

I have a decent rig, anyways. Core 2 Quad e6600, 8800gts 640 mb, 2gb ram, etc etc. Pretty good last i checked.

The earliest I can see Halo2 coming out for PC is a year from it's console release. That being said, it may NEVER come out on PC.

IMO, that would be the wisest choice. Every time a console game is released on PC the gap between consoles and PC's is narrowed. The Xbox360 is already essentialy a computer. I am sure console makers dont want consoles to be merged with PCs because that will eventually kill the consoles. (not that I care)

I know the OP didnt ask for my opinion on this whole thing, but I feel like saying it anyway: LET HALO STAY ON CONSOLES.

The PC has by far more excellent shooters than consoles do, and even if that wasnt the case, no console controller can compare to a high precision mouse.

If you want to play console games, GET A CONSOLE. If you cant afford one, wait till you can. Be content with the PC you already have. I know that one can never get enough, but the sooner you change your outlook on life the better off you'll be. I hope you know what I mean. If you dont, you will one day. ;)

Okay, well I will elaborate, by the way I don't hate Halo, I just think that the main reason for its success is because of the lack of competition on the Xbox and now the Xbox 360. I think depth is the one word that does not describe the MP for Halo 3, if it is anything like the first to games. I would say this it's fun and easy but probably won't have the depth that will appeal to a PC gamer. I am playing the Quake Wars demo and that by comparison to Halo has depth. Maybe Halo 3 is different but based on the reviews that I've read they mostly talk about new vehicles, weapons and "people cannons" (which I think originated with Quake). This sounds more like their trying to dress up the game to be more fun rather than provide depth. There nothing wrong with that, I'm just not sure it warrants the praise that is being heaped upon it.

the best thing that can be said by me about PC gaming is that PC's can game longer (sessions i mean) and the games are MUCH cheaper. Oh, and Online... free online!

I personally hope it doesn't come to the pc cuz it won't sell for **** remember pc has hundreds of shooters in every type of theme and genre (space, ww2, scifi/horror, modern day etc.) and I've played halo sp and mp and was not impressed in the slightest there's fps's from 5+ years ago that are better in every aspect except for maybe the graphics part. For all those that like it I challenge you to tell me what's so great and innovative about it that hasn't been accomplished in so many damn great shooters out on the pc? Because I've never really seen what ll the hype has been about since halo1, just name one aspect thats different, and i don't want to here that its about a spaceman fighting aliens because there are a lot of those shooters for the pc as well.

Wow, I love the attention a Halo sig gets me. :P I explained why I love Halo. Campaign Story. Characters. Multiplayer. Co-op. I've played almost every single shooter out there on consoles and PC since Wolfenstein, and Halo is still right up there with Half-Life and Deus Ex for me.

I can respect anybody disliking the series, not your cup of tea, thats fine. But my opinion becomes somehow diminished because I enjoy a game you do not? Come off it.

While I agree that all three halos are appreciated for things which were quite common on pc or can be easily done on the pc, but in no way i consider halo 3 to be trash. halo 2 could be considered as trash, but halo 1 was quite a bit of fun and halo 3 still looks to be even more fun. but still, i also don't care whether it comes to pc or not. if it comes i will give it a try when i get it for a bargain price

Personally halo has never really appealed to me. It focusses to much on multiplayer. Which is something I think plays best on the pc. I just prefer good dedicated servers, modding community and user made maps. I do admit that forge sounds good, but I really want to see it in action with my own eyes.
