Compared to the consoles, it has the potential to produce better visuals. Unfortunately PC hardware is almost never fully optimized to the max potential where as consoles are almost always eventually maxed out at the end of their life cycles.
And to trump Eva027, the 8600's are not nearly as bad as everyone says they are. For the price they are very beafy cards.
At least as good if not better than the PS3 and 360 GPU,and since you have a 720p TV,you're almost guaranteed visuals at least as good if not better than the consoles.
