how do you mean bottleneck? as in my cpu will limit the 8800 series full power?Rhys555Basically, yes. A general rule of thumb is your computer will only run as fast as your best piece of hardware.
Surely your computer only runs as fast as your worst piece of hardware, not best?manic111Yea wherever your weak link is thats what will hold you back.

I think you mean your worst piece of hardware???? yeah no point getting loads of high speed ram and a monster graphics card when your processor cant keep up
hmm, looking at this, do you think it is worth upgrading my motherboard aswell then? i bought my pc as a whole i neve built it, so im unsure as to what name it has :P, however i know its a lga 775 800mhz. therefore if i bought a cpu runnig at 1066MHz, would that be limited as well?Rhys555I think the 8800Mhz you are referring to means the max FSB of the CPU.

yeah, i do mean the max fsb, which is 800MHz, so would this hold back a cpu unning at 1066MHz ( may seem obvious, but im new to 'computing'...)
I get alot of stutter problems, could my 1gb of ram and 3200+ be holding back my 7900GT?By stutter problems, do you mean low framerates in games ? Perhaps try turning down graphics settings. Or run 3DMark 06 and compare the score with other 7900GT cards.
I could add another gb, but I dont think my motherboard could handle it. Can a motherboard have that effect?

A general rule of thumb is your computer will only run as fast as your best piece of hardware. Did you mean to say it will only run as fast as your slowest piece of hardware? The way you said it implies there will never be a bottleneck.

In that case, this may not be a bottlenecking issue. Try updating to the latest drivers.Cyborg-21It could mean there isnt enough ram to properly buffer everything?? or yes maybe driver issues

Increase RAM or lower texture buffer size would probably solve the problem.
