I'm planning on upgrading soon and I'm on a budget of say around $400 maybe even $500, I just want the upgrade to last me until a series 9 Geforce card comes out next year so I can get that so I will be sticking with my current 7300 GT as of now.

What I have

Motherboard - MSI MS-7145

Processor - AMD Athlon 64, 2400 MHz(12 x 200) 3400+

PSU - 300W Model ATX-300-12E Rev D

RAM - 512 MB DDR 400 MHz CL3 x2 (1 GB)

What I plan on getting

Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 Allendale 2.2GHz 2M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 $127.99

Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 $94.99

Memory - OCZ Platinum Revision 2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 $74.99 ($39.99 after rebate)

Power Supply - Thermaltake Purepower W0100RU ATX 12V 2.0 500W Power Supply $59.99 ($34.99 after rebate)

Total - $297.96 (After rebates)

I want to know how much of an improvement I will see with this, right now I can play Crysis on low with 1028x768 res with decent FPS (around 20-25), I'm hoping to be able to play on medium and keep it at that until next year.

You will still be playing on low without a graphics card update, it is the most important part of a gaming pc and a 7300 was never meant for gaming.

Just wait until the 8800 GT is not sold out every where and get that and you should be fine, if you got two of them that would kick ass
