SIS 760GX 64 MB Ram DDR with 128 MB Ram shared

160 GB HDD

15.4 inch screen.

DVD +- RW DL

Wi-Fi B/G

my new laptop is

AMD Turion Ultra x2 ZM-86 2.4 GHZ

ATI Radeon 4650 1 GB GDDR3

3 GB DDR2

320 HDD

16 inch screen

Blu-ray rom/supermult DVD

so how much of an Gaming upgrade did I get?

Pretty awesome upgrade, although that screen size leads me to believe that your native resolution is a bit high for that GPU for new games.

I am not a greedy gamer. I would like to get a nice gaming machine, but I do not have the funds for gaming awsomeness. But My main question is can i play at least newer Dx10 game and older (early PS2, ps3 era games DX9.0c) but telling you that the only game I could run that I own without the need of cooling pad, was Simciy 4. All other game I had to run on low and use a cooling pad or it would freeze up or overheat. Becausee the Graphics on onboard. it was SIS 760 GX it was direct x 9.0b but did not have the horsepower to run game even that I had enough memory to run most games. So I was a bit of an AMD fan. but anyway my games are (Metal of honor , AA, PA, Airborne, Halo1 and 2, assaions creed, starwars battlefield 2, Crysis, Far Cry 2, Fifa World Cup 2006, ceasar IV, simcity4, call of duty 4. 2. I just wanted to know if all of these games should run well at least on low rez.
