How to be a "better" host in MW2?

Everytime I'm host people complain about the game lagging like crazy. I have a stock q6600 and my upload speed is 500kbps, which I assume should host a game just fine (not sure about upload speed). Is there something else that causes the host to lag people like this?

Why bother, brother? Slowly but surely people are starting to realize they got cheated on the PC.

Might as well throw your cards in with BF:BC2 right now. The beta is open on Steam if you want to pre-order it.

Just to let you know that some dedicated servers have 10 MBps, that just goes to show you how little 500 KBps really is for hosting.

Just to let you know that some dedicated servers have 10 MBps, that just goes to show you how little 500 KBps really is for hosting.

Ideally the host should have at least 1MB/s of upload speed.

Ok I know a lot of PC gamers hold a grudge against Modern Warfare 2 but how the hell did it cheat anybody out of money? I bought it and got exactly what I was expecting to get.

Well I knew how much the game was going to cost before I bought it by looking at the price tag. I also knew about the changes to the PC version as would any other CoD fan, the game works quite well and comes with 3 sperate game modes and seems like a pretty complete package to me.
On top of that they gave the PC about as much care as they did the other 2 platforms and while I didn't like their choice I can't exactly argue with their logic to be quite honest. After all this, the game sold very well on PC and gets around 100,000 players every day, not exactly a flop.

Now I ask again, How exactly did they cheat anyone out of their money?
