would 3sli gtx 260 oc get hot enough to use water cooling solutions

There is absolutely no need for Triple-SLI on a GTX 260 unless you are gaming at 2560 x 1600 resolution with everything maxed out.
Don't install 3 video cards for tri-sli. the configuration has all 3 cards to close to each other and they "will" over heat. thats all the configurations to guys. Especiallt gtx 260's, those suckers will get hot. If you did 3 260 cards, that would be 6 video cards not 3, I have no idea what kind of water cooling system would work or fit on that configuration to cool it properly (if it can with them so close to each other)
Only that if you insist on tri-sli you will "Have" to install liguid cooling, cause your air cooling, is not going to happen.
On my xfx 780i board (which has 3 x16 pci-e slots for tri-sli) I did not get 3 cards, I got 2x xfx GTX 280's and put one in the upper bank, and the second in the bottom most bank.
it is a Quad sli solution, and properly air cooled with the stock cooling from xfx. Vista is still buggy and sometimes I get load errors on boot, and after launching CoD modern warfare for the first time, the bottom card fried near the 8 and 6 pin power adapters. yaaaaaaaaaaaa. new egg is sending me a replacement.
So if you want to avoid the over heating problem of 3 cards crammed together and just go with quad-sli and hope your pc runs stable at least its one problem you can avoid.
make sure your power supply is up to it either way. ABS 1300 watt is a good solution, I am ordering one soon.
google tri-sli water cooling if your mind is made up.

You don't need books. Use the internet - just a few days of researching and doing my homework on upgrading my video card gave me vast amounts of knowledge on how to build an efficient PC.
Honestly, I would not suggest this forum for your computer needs. Half of the people do not even know what they are saying/doing. Try good overclocking/building forums, where they know their stuff much more.

They are really good at what they do. I suggest them, but make sure you ask responsible and logical questions, or they will critique you. If you do not ask, they will not bother to tell you. If you go this powersupply is good, and you chose it without asking if anything better is out there, they will not tell you (also depends on the person). But if you know your stuff, and ask questions you will learn a lot. I also suggest reading and researching on google. Helped me in how to build my PC, and OCing as well. Took me 6 months of researching and reading, to get the basic knowledge of building my computer.

Here's a good book to start with: Build It. Fix It. Own It: A Beginner's Guide to Building and Upgrading a PC, you can get it at Amazon.
Here's a good forum here at GameSpot: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/unions/home.php?union_id=custompcunion Highly recommended !!
Here's some good web links to start with:

[QUOTE="slippyFingaz"]I don't know what any of this means! In basic terms: If you had 3 260 graphics cards in sli like you mentioned they would be so close to one another that they wouldn't have enough room to pull cool air into the cooler, they'ld just pull the hot air out of each other. As they are so close together it would be very difficult to fit water cooling as the tubes are pretty thick and not very flexible. On his motherboard he has 3 PCIex16 slots (the slots used by grapphics cards). He put in two top end graphics cards in sli but put one in the top slot and one in the bottem leaving the middle free to allow more breething room and so better cooling. Vista still messes up with his graphics card configuration and one of them over heated at the power connectors. Also make sure you have a sufficient power supply to be able to keep the graphics cards running.Don't install 3 video cards for tri-sli. the configuration has all 3 cards to close to each other and they "will" over heat. thats all the configurations to guys.
