Google is being stupid and only bringing up guides that tell me how to install a hard drive. What I need to know is how to get this 3rd one into my comp.

I bought a factory comp that came with 70gb hard drive and a dvd drive (each one taking up 1 of the 2 slots that I have obviously).

But how do I get my new 500gb hard drive in? Would I have to replace my 70gb hard drive? Because that's really not an option, me losing my windows disks and all..

Google isn't being stupid, your search wasn't specific enough. If your 70 gb and 500 gb are ide hdd, search for "install hard drive master slave". If your 500gb is sata and assuming that your hard drive cage can hold another hdd, then install it, format it, use it, alongside your 70gb.

the same way you install any hard drive. slide it into your case, plug in the power and sata and away you go. then you just need to create a partition when you start windows

what he said... though i use IDE interface. IF any problems arise go to the BIOS and make sure the HDD with windows on it is the master drive and the other drive is set to slave. THe new drive should appear in your "my computer" as another letter besides C://
