loved stalker especially the atmosphere but the graphics are kind of "meh", then i saw clear sky's graphics and i've been amazed, so im worried if the graphics for dx9 mode will be just like with the first one, or is this the game that's worth to upgrade to vista for the dx10.

I really doubt it - so far there has been so little difference in the visual quality of Dx10 & 9.

They (the devs) said that only DX10 exclusive features are volumetric smoke and the new water/rain effects.

I think so, though they said that DX10 is faster on the max settings.

Umm, the difference is kinda huge? at least in Stalker, because on DX 9 it looks like crap, on DX10 it's good.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykwoD_eH8zs (DX 10 and you might want to see the latest trailer because it compares side by side, effects from DX 10 with effects from DX 9)

Stalker is not by far one of the best looking games imo, but with DX 10 the difference is huge for me, it's almost bearable so maybe I will enjoy Clear Sky more, because Stalker SoC was boring as hell.

vista is still to pricey for me. i could buy a bunch of games for the same price as vista. i just hope someone could unlock dx10 effects to dx9 just like in crysis

I have all three of those. I have Vista. Guess what? All of them work fine on Vista.

Hopefully they look just about identical because I don't feel like switching to my Vista partition every time I want to play it.

I'm sure that all of those games will work fine on Vista. I've never had a game not work with Vista.
