My first serious foray into the RTS genre was Age Of Empires. I found it to be a decent introduction to the genre, although Age Of Empires 2 was much improved, and Cossacks is one of my favourite RTS games.
From what I played of the demo, Company Of Heroes is a different kettle of fish as it is mostly focused on the combat. I don't think there's any base building or anything.
All I can say is stick with it and practice, and you will get better over time. No doubt you did the same thing with FPS games when you first started out with those. You do have to switch your mind-set a bit when playing games from another genre.
Anyway, good luck with the game and I hope you enjoy it.
I dont think it has anything to do with you sucking, and more to do with CoH just being frikin' hard. Relic is known for making their games have nearly punishing difficulty. of course, once you can overcome the challenges, you are going to be awesome at the game.
I'd probably recommend some other game to get started into RTS. World in Conflict is a good choice just because its more of an "Action RTS" than a pure RTS game.
will certainly try out evertything wont give up....though i dont really understand whats the difference between coh and world in conflict..now i havnt played wic but people say coh is all about the combat and wic is pretty easy compared to coh i dont even know what that means....
