this is "if " the game comes to PC.

reason why: the first game had sound issues, well documented but activision never bothered ( as fas i know ) to issue a patch to fix the problem. they just plain ignored the fans.

do a search for prototype sound issues and you will see. I bought the game in good faith before finding out about the sound issues...visually, it is an awesome game and i would have really liked to have been able to play it as intended but no dice. Activision remained mum on the issue and never did anything about it. So if activision does not care about its first game, what make them think they will care about their second game.

I strongly urge you to do some internet research on this and see for yourself and then decide what to do but i know that i wont be buying on the sequel even if it might be awesome and have high reveiws. I urge all people to think about that one. The company took some of my money from me and left me with a defective product that never got fixed. ( if the problem is resolved point me to it so i can play the game...then i might chnage my mind about what i have said above.)

peace

I have the original Prototype, and I have none of the issues you described. In any case, I won't get it simply for the fact that one was more than enough.

I really enjoyed played the first game and had no sound issues. It got boring fast after you ended the story but it was worth it imo. I dont understand all the bad reviews it was MUCH better than all the crappy NFS games for sure which got a higher score.

I have Prototype and the game is simply incredible. No issues on my end, but each person's PC is different so performance varies.

If Prototype 2 is half the game its predecessor was, it will be worth the 50 (oh, wait...60) bucks.

problably one of my top 3 freeroam sanbox games (Just Cause 2, Prototype, and GTA San Andreas

Prototype 2 looks just like the first one with slightly better graphics. I just don't see the appeal of doing "more of the same." I thought they would learn from the first and make something spectacular... but they try to sell more of the gorey, super human-monster mysterious guy that can jump off skyscrapers.. That isn't appealing to me at all.

I never had problems with Prototype, I'm not getting the 2nd one simply because Prototype was just pure garbage (they reused the city from a Spider-Man game, it was flawed but enjoyable, adding some washed colors, a new guy and gore everywhere wouldn't make it fun or interesting at all and it didn't).

It is listed in amazon for $50. Publishers have been slowly dropping the $60 price tag(Brotherhood launched at 50, and already dropped to 40). It's pretty much just EA now with their super High Profile games(Mass Effect, Battlefield), Bethesda(RAGE and Skyrim) and the Call of Duties. It seems our constant whining and boycotts sort of worked. Bioshock Infinite was first listed in amazon for 460 and now dropped to a base $50 tag.

Yeah I did some "internet research" and the second link on google takes you to a detailed "Prototype Sound Fix" page. It even has Japanese girls in bikinis.

Lots of games have outstanding compatibility problems. Deal with it. I have never come across an issue I couldn't figure out how to fix or circumvent.

You are correct - not only did Activision never make a patch, they deleted the threads fans posted about problems they had (sound like you mentioned, plus incompatibility with some HID devices, had to let the game make the settings - manual settings screwed up the game). Most of the problems were being experienced with people who were running the game in XP.

But the fact that Activision never addressed the problems and never made a patch speaks volumes. At least CDPR and BioWare make patches to fix what gamers discover.

I used to do that with games I didn't like. Then, I realized how pointless it is to waste my time on a game I don't like, even if it's one that I payed for. Better to use my time on games I do like. Besides, they're not always wasted money. Sometimes they make pretty good coasters. :P

Im probably not goint to get this game, because of Prototype 1, which was fun for 20 minutes, then got extremely boring.

If the reviews all go up high, I might reconsider thou :)

I actually went and bought a sound card just to see if it would fix the sound problem and it did not...and most people with pc had sounds issues..so if you are chiming in that you had no sound problems but forgetting to tell to people that you are playign the game on console then you are not telling the whole truth....

i never was able to get the game going no matter was hardware i had or what OS i was running so nope...not gonna re invest in this franchise thats for sure...

I got the first one cheap about a year ago, but couldn't get into to. It's just another superpower sandbox game. And not a fan of games with a bunch of combo moves you need to memorize.
