I can honestly say, after a month of MW3...

...I've grown extremely tired of it. I played 60 hours, yet haven't played for the past week or two. Tried it again today, and it was just incredibly dull and boring. When I first played it, I genuinely enjoyed it, very much so in fact, now it's just... mediocre and honestly quite ordinary. A generic shooter with nothing new to offer.

Bit disappointed after all the time I spent defending it. No comment on BF3's longevity, I certainly hope it doesn't suffer from the same feeling, for the sake of the people who looked forward to it.

Who else got this feeling?

I only have around 25 hours on that game. I still like it, but its just hard finding time to play after BF3 released the expansion and SWTOR just came out.

Also I seem to always go like 25 and 10 when I play on the 360. I think BF3 is that much more difficult of a shooter that it makes me better at MW3. No joke.

This is just dumb. Do you *need* mods to make your games fun, because then you must not play a wide array of games.

I think the issue is with people who play a single game too much without any breaks in between, I've been playing a wide variety of games and certainly have no issues enjoying the occasional coop on MWF3. There's no reason why you can't play just 2 hours of 10 different games every week, rather than 20 hours of the same game. I'm actually willing to play Spec Ops more often than others are available, and lately I've been trying to do a veteran run on the missions mode: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/595831141196952183/186005DDB57463C26A0CD391B71AFE822B04660E/ As for BF3 and MWF3 MP, I've spent around 13 hours on MWF3 MP, 22 hours on BF3, and around 33 hours on Spec Ops on MWF3, right now the only thing increasing is the amount of time I'm spending on Spec Ops, despite the good effort on DICE with the B2K update but this may be due to running into the CS:GO and Tribes: Ascend betas which are for serious PC gamers. Don't expect any single game to be the be-all-end-all of your gaming needs, this will not happen, especially not with the current state of most games catering to the casual/console crowd more than ever(a lot of games will be fun at first, but are too easy to master and when the challenge is removed it's perhaps less interesting).

I've got about 20 hours in it and I have to say it does get boring fast. Probably because I played MW2 so much and there isn't anything new here really. I will admit I've sunk a good chunk of those hours in survivor mode though. I'm liking it even more than zombies.

Why do you think i didn't waste my 60 bucks on it. I knew it would be the same as MW2, as it was the same as MW. Even the ones treyarch made were ungodly similar. CoD is dead man.... I can't wait for it to be buried where it belongs.... In the past.

To make my PC shooters fun and to extend the life span. I played 600 hours of CoD2 just because of mods and the endless amount of custom maps. I put 300 hours into the ZombieX mod in CoDWaW... After 50 hours I'm already bored with BF3... Not even the new unlocks from B2K are enough to keep me playing. If more people played the AIX and PoE2 mods in BF2 I'd play that instead...

I got that feeling during MW2. Its spread to pretty much all military shooters to the point where I dont play them anymore. I even skipped on BF3 and don't have an urge to buy or play it.

I'm not trying to say MW3 is a bad game or not...but I think we can all agree that is it extremely similar to the other games in the series, so it makes sense that unless they start really changing up the formula MW games are going to become less and less entertaining overtime.

Battlefield 3 is much easier to me. Though I can quite honestly say I'm bored with both of the games. Battlefield 3's server disappearance and seemingly vanished community is a total disappointment and disaster I would say. Modern Warfare 3 just got boring after around 40 hours or so. Battlefiled 3 didn't even get that long of a play from me and I was pumped about this game. So much so that I upgraded my PC. Oh well

I've played this on a friends PC cause I bought BF3. It was fun and all, but I just like BF3 better. I might be one of the few that won't buy MW3.

ive heard a few people make that complaint, even though there are over 100 000 people online at once. there must be an issue.

edit: did some reading, and it seems many servers arent being listed properly in the browser. I imagine it will be fixed soon.

edit2: seems fine now, although you will find almost everyone is playing conquest.

I played 5 hours and I have no desire to go back. BF3 also kept me busy for only a couple of hours, but I'll give it another try on the new maps this weekend.

I never really liked CoD multiplayer. I barely played the cIassics online. I had a brief obsession for CoD4's Killhouse map in FFA, I played like 40 hours only that. WaW was very atmospheric but I played only a couple of hours. MW2 was the most frustrating online experience I ever had.

BLOPS is the one I played the most, 60 hours or so, because I really liked Treyarch's additions - currency, awesome customisation. Plus a great atmosphere. I'm looking forward to Treyarch's next multiplayer COD, I hope they don't abandon what they started with BLOPS.

I only played about 2 hours of MW2 online. Black Ops, I think over 20 hours. That was it for me. I'm done with Call of Duty until next gen when they come up with a new engine and a something different.

BF3 - 44 hours and I show no signs of stopping.

I played 7 hours of competitive multiplayer and developed a rather profound hate for it during that time. I enjoyed the campaign and co-op though.

I've got 34 hours in BF 3's multiplayer so far, and I'm nowhere near burning out. I tend to tire of online shooters fairly quickly, but the BF games have consistently kept my interest for longer periods.

I do find myself getting pretty frustrated playing BF 3 at times. I cant think of any other game in recent history that has caused me to curse so much out loud.

Still, I think I had one match of MW 3 where I had fun. The rest of those 7 hours I literally just sat there and went "wow this is really just terrible"

...I've grown extremely tired of it.

Dude, what game DOESN'T get a bit dull and boring after 60 hours...? With CoD it's the same with me. I have weeks where I play it non-stop....then I grow tired of it and leave it there, even for months....and come back later.

Lots of games. I can make a list:

GTA IV

Mount and Blade

Fifa 12

Dead Island

Killing Floor

STALKER

Total Annihilation

And more.

But in general, yes. Story driven games really don't last long. RPGs and multiplayer games do/are supposed to.
