Well, if you like to use your imagination, SPORE is quite fun though.MOCHIRON_MANI couldn't "imagine" it being fun at all. I guess you hate it when people have differing opinions to you?

Nope. Differing opinions don't bother me. I'm just saying, that SPORE can be fun, with you like to use your imagination to make things and what not.
Spore would be more fun if it didn't require 400+ hours of gameplay before managing to kill the grox off and beat the gameshakmaster13
400 + hours? Ok, now I'm definetly happy I got SPORE: I have not got a long in a very long time. Just about all the games on Wii, 360, and PS3 are short.
[QUOTE="jmnderson69"]Oh wow pretty water....you kids make me laugh nowadays.Baranga
Spore is a huge technical achievement.
I agree, because it is surely something new, aside from the fact that the play style like RTS, and adventure are both in it, it does have new stuff that hasn't been done in other games by EA.

of those 400 about 380 are EXTREMELY REPITITIVE missions in space that get old after maybe 10 hours of gameplay. I only got to the center of the galaxy on a bet. The thing is the grox is just SO MUCH more powerful than you and the only way to beat them is to just destroy all their planets(ALOT of planets, and the bombs are VERY heavy on you sporebucks)

Well, when the bomb is gone, there's nothing like high stockpiles of repair packs and energy packs lol.

and you really need to prepare to spend hours pathing out the black holes. I should have just used an online walkthrough >.<
So I have to download additional stuff to make the game enjoyable? Why does this sound like the mods for Oblivion? Look, when a game releases it should be aye or nay. Spore was a nay and has turned me off from it. I shouldn't have to find mods, added content, or patches to make the game "fun".Stuff

Good idea....I knew I would find a use for the game! The game disc is a place I always set my beer.

Yah, I thought about writing out the important black holes, and which ones lead closest to home world and which ones locate you around the grox area. I might do that with a couple. Although, I did set up a colony on the farthest planet from the center.

Well, I didn't say or order you to download anything. I just suggested that you could try some new things with it.
I picked up the Galactic Edition at Best Buy recently for the same price as the regular version and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I really enjoy just creating the critters and various vehicles you can build. It may not be a graphics beauty but it is original and fun.thanatose
Too true. I really like making new creatures and seeing them in the game during the stages. I could really care less about the graphics of the game, though I do look for how good they are, but with SPORE, I don't think it really needs high graphics to be enjoyable, because the graphics, to me anyway, are perfect.
The Creature Creater itself, is a big step for EA. that Creature Creater engine software, is possible the biggest thing they have ever made for a game.
Looks horrible to me, does alot of things and all of them terribley from what i've seenmarkop2003
I'm just curious: Have you played it? It is so much better than what the reviews and images may say. I never really could judge a game before I play it.

I find it amazing I have read through this entire thread, but the farther along I went, the more interesting it became how you felt the need to keep defending your opinion vs. thoses that differed about weither Spore was a good game or not. I also need to mention, I havent played the game, but did download the creature creator when it first became available and did have some fun with it. So my personal opinions about Spore remain netural in that it's a good, bad or ugly game. Having read numerous reviews and reader responses, I get the general impression that overall Spore is considered a fair to good game, but not as great as the potential that was there for it. The huge hype generated for it may have had something to do with that...I really don't know.
But the main issue I have with your thread (IMO) is your need to convince people that have a different opinion other than your's, that you are right and they are wrong about Spore being the best thing since sliced bread. Now I know you didn't say it in quite those terms, but your over zelous and immediate responses to almost every post that critizes the game leads me to believe you can't accept other peoples opinions that differ from your's......I'm sure not everyone in the world feels the same as you and it becomes annoying when someone tries to convince everyone of that. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to flame you (well maybe a bit) but I'm gald you found a game your very excited about...it's just that not everyone may agree with you on that.

Eh, he loves the game. It's understandable.
I hate seeing people screaming that they want INNOVATION!!!! and ORIGINALITY!!!, but when they get something like this they say it's lame, broken, a mess etc. It's sad that they expect five full games in one package. It's even sadder that people fail to realize that Spore is one of the most technically advanced games available.
You know, I'd rather a game that does one new thing well instead of a game that does 5 things equally poor. I played the game for roughly 10 hours and 8 of those were boring as sin. Also, you don't need "Innovation" or "Originality" all of the times and as for spore, it wasn't that innovated. All it did was try to combine multiple genres into one and it didn't succeed in producing the game that it could have been. I like Platformers, RTSs, and 4X/Space sims and yet all of the stages seemed to lack due to the combination of them all. Don't get me wrong but some people will enjoy it and some will not. I bought the game for myself and my girlfriend and neither one of us enjoyed it overly.Eh, he loves the game. It's understandable.

That's shocking:lol:
How is that shocking? She is into the more casual games and I am always open to trying new things so I went out and purchased a copy for myself and a copy for her. After playing it for a bit, we were wondering why we purchased it in the end.Eh, he loves the game. It's understandable.

That is possibly true, all they want is more of the same. They hate new stuff in games, they don't like it, they won't play it, and they just throw it away and get back to their Fallout 3 or God of War 2 and what not. Spore really is, a great game. Though, SPORE does have some originality in it when you get to the tribe and civil stage.
Well, because girls usually like cute stuff like Spore. I spent hours with my girlfriend designing stuff.BarangaShe enjoyed the creature creator for a short bit but found that most of the changes were just cosmetic and didn't add anything really to the core gameplay.

Besides the fact that you design your vehicles/buildings, what is so original about the tribal and civil stages? Also, just because I see the flaws in Spore doesn't mean that I am one to shy away originality/innovation. I've put about 70 hours into Mount&Blade, a game that does very well in what it set out to be. Truly open ended and a different but great combat system. So I got SPORE for X-mas, and it's is the game that I would definetly recommend to the creative bunch of people, and to most other people, because of it's infinite replayability. What do you guys think of SPORE?MOCHIRON_MANOverated, outside of creating things what is there to do in the gameplay that is fun?

You can create a tank.....wait, that involves creating.., how about creating a space ship.....dammit, creation again. Really the only thing it comes down to is this. Stage 1. Eat everything you see, add a limb here and there Stage 2. Collect bones and kill/befriend your fellow sporelings Stage 3. Again, kill/befriend your fellow sporelings Stage 4. Convert or kill off your fellow sporelings, design a tank!.... Stage 5. Create a star destroyer, fly to a new system and realize that repetition is your worst enemy in space....wait, you can blow a planet up! Remember, all it good as long as you can create something.

But why? You are entitled to your opinion and so is everyone else. No one came out and said "Sorry, your opinion is wrong" and thus no need to defend it.Oh god, BF 2142, I hate the amount of maps there are, and there isn't even any map downloads yet, and I was in EB Games the day it came out too. I only play offline skirmish cause that's only what I can do on my PC in my room.MOCHIRON_MANDon't have an internet connection or something in your room? As BF2142 is meant to be a online game.....trust me, the bots don't do the game any justice.
