I hate steam with a passion.

I bought the orange box today RETAIL today. I cant install it because for some reason the retail version is tied to using steam for some reason. Total bull at this point I want my money back, why should a retail game you buy from the store not be able to be installed because steam is having problems. I didt buy the game fron steam why does it have anything to do with it. this is total crap.

They are doing some work atm. This is the first time steam has been down ever for me.

No big deal, steam is fantastic.. never had any issues in years.

the only problem i've had is the people that don't know how to use it or aren't smart enough to read the home page on steam program the store one

Who would own a gaming PC and be a PC gamer without having some form of internet connection? It is obvious that you do have some form of internet connection and a member of gamespot, so I am in shock and aww that you have never heard of anything like this.

Plus while I know this (Look for "The Orange Box - Front" because it won't just let me link the photo) is the european version of the Orange Box it does specify on the back of the box that it must be registered via the internet on a Steam Account. My guess is that there just may be something similar on the US version.

I remember my brother being upset about there being monthly fees associated with FFXI, but it clearly stated on the box that it required them.....

This isn't exactly something new. We told you all we could, steam is doiong maintenance, and you curse us out because you didn't notice that Valve has been doing this for the last half of last decade?

Sounds to me like you haven't even tried Steam to even give it a try and see if you like it. I love Steam, it's a great program, and a good way to keep in touch with other gamers with like minds.

I do have issues with it sometimes, but very, very, very rarely. I would say maybe once or twice a year I have a small issue with it. I shut it off, wait an hour, go back and it works fine.

This is a good reason why you should always do a little bit of research for PC games because they might always need someone ridiculous.
