I bought Crysis Maximum Pack went through the process on registering through their old system to obtain my games through Origin. However, while it worked for Warhead, it did not work for Crysis 1. I called support and got someone really nice who tried and helped me out. He said it's an issue they have been working on, but he couldn't promise any time frame. I was pretty disappointed at first, but then he said he would add Crysis 2 to my account for my trouble, which I thought was very generous. He also included a 15% off promo code for calling in and hoped that they could resolve the issue with Crysis 1 soon.

I'm downloading Warhead now and can't wait to try out Crysis 2 as well. Hopefully, soon I'll get Crysis 1, but it's very relieving to have such great customer support that if they can't fix one of your problems at that time, at least they appease you with another game to enjoy for the time being.

I have some new respect for EA. :)

Has anyone else had good customer service from EA lately?

EA is absolute trash, and their customer service is terrible from my past experiences. Honestly I don't think there is a worse publisher.

Yeah, I've heard many people have had bad experiences so I thought I'd share an experience that was positive.

Still better than GFWL. 6 months and they have an apt of showing that their customer support agents failed 1st grade. They are having trouble spelling my email...

EA isn't just the service. Without EA, there would be no Mass Effect. They funded the project, they advertised it, they published it.

It's a much bigger role than many seem to think.

Their customer service is hit or miss. Forgive me for stereotyping, but from experience I noticed that the Indian customer service reps are more helpful than others. One rep added BF2 complete to my account when I told him my DVD was scratched (It really was). He did not even ask for proof. Another person added all my steam EA games to Origin for free. All I had to do was link him to the games in my steam profile.

I have had bad experiences as well. It took me about 10 chats with 10 different reps before the person I mentioned above added BF2 to my account. Their customer service is bad for sure, but it does surprise me once in a while.

Actually Mass Effect would still be around. Mass Effect was originally published and funded my MS, than EA bought Bioware/Pandemic a couple months after ME1 was released.

You know what's the trouble with you guys? You blame the company on account of the terrible attendant you got. There are good employees and bad employees EVERYWHERE, on every service. It's not the company, it's the EMPLOYEE.

As an observation, someone at the company must have hired that employee then trained them and someone must manage their performance. And then there's the knowledge base they're likely to use to diagnose problems.

Yes, the person you can speak to can be inept (I can remember a very rude Dutch operator when phoning Phillips), but they didn't just walk in and start doing the job...

I agree. Origin definitely isn't as good as Steam yet, but Origin hasn't been out as long and is still in beta. I'm starting quite a collection of Origin games now and while if the deals are the same on Steam and Origin, I'm going to default to Steam, but I'm not going to turn down a good Origin deal anymore just because it uses Origin.

I used their customer service once. It was pretty good, but it didn't end up fixing my problem (and I didn't get around to fixing it after that).

I got Battlefield 2142 from a friend (which is awesome, and I don't know why I never got into it considering how much I've played Battlefield 2 over the years), but it uses a system of one CD key = one person, so I couldn't play it.
I connected to customer service, explaining the situation and saying that I could show some picture of the game, disk, and CD key to prove I owned the game. The guy said alright, left, came back, and gave me a new key :)
The key didn't work though... So unless the guy just smacked his keyboard to create a "new key" and get me to go away, I'd say I had good experience in their customer service.
I mean, I wouldn't have been too annoyed if he just said "no", being that getting a second CD key for a game can come off as pretty sketchy.

Some people over in the EA UK forums before Battlefield 3 was released, when they implied that people would be stuck with their (sometimes ~7 year old) usernames had pretty okay experiences with changing their EA ID before EA let you change it through the web (and now finally through Origin).
On the other side of that, some of the customer service people said "WE CAN'T DO THAT" and ended the conversation.
