My xbox will not work in 1080p, only 1080i.

Can someone tell me what the deal is? The TV is model pretty new and has the 120hz refresh rate. I am sure it supports 1080p, but why can my xbox 360 only display up to 1080i?

I am sure there is some simple reason out there on what is going on, can someone please enlighten me? Thank you.

Yes, when I set it to 1080p, the tv just goes blue until the 360 resets to 1080i.

Yes, I am sure it is a 1080P tv. There are even stickers saying it is 1080p all over it.

What this guy said, I could only use 1080i on my 1080p HDTV till I got the HDMI connection for the Xbox 360.

if you are using the component cables it will only do up to 1080i. you need hdmi connection to do 1080p but xbox 360 native resolution is 720p so im not sure how the pic quality will be.

Make sure the game you are playing supports 1080p. Only a few titles can support 1080p right now. Call of duty 4 is a good example.

In order to get 1080p your tv needs to support 1920 X 1280

Look at your manual, and you need to connect with a Hdmi or Vga cable.

Most 360 games are 720p. They will upconvert to 1080p also
