I gave up on WoW and started paying attention to reality.chrisrooRWe have yet ANOTHER winner of the "USELESS Comment of the Week Post" Congratulations...
I feel the same way, but now that I am starting again, I'm just going to play when I can and enjoy it.... not worrying about getting to max level or having the best weapon etc... Just enjoy the scenery....I'd like to start playing again, but the game is so incredibly time consuming, I just don't have the time for it :(

Since you seemed a bit worried about people being able to fly in and towns and just skip most guards and just straight to the faction leader. Let me tell you that I am certain you wont be able to do that, why? Because the game will force you to dismount flying mounts (Dalaran), or use air guards that will shoot down fliers.MaroxadThey removed the limitation in Dalaran and I'm certain it won't dismount you in any city, especially Orgrimmar that's crawling with flying guards.
I gave up on WoW and started paying attention to reality.chrisrooRSo, you stopped playing one certain game, then you found reality, but you're playing a lot more games than a single one and you still know what reality is? is it me or WoW ate your brains when you left?

I remember when I logged in as my main (human paladin) and flew to Dalaran, I was suprised as heck when I wasnt forced to dismount upon reaching Dalaran. And if you say Ogrimmar is crawling with flying guards then it probably means my second theory is correct, thanks for correcting me.

So, you stopped playing one certain game, then you found reality, but you're playing a lot more games than a single one and you still know what reality is? is it me or WoW ate your brains when you left?
the difference being he isnt required to be on those other games at certain times of day, and for large numbers of hours at a time. playing many games when he has free time > play one game for a required number of hours on certain days. and yes, every wow player that WANTS to raid is forced to play for a certain number of hours on raid days. and if you arent raiding when you hit max level... what ARE you doing honestly? i suppose PVP...You are not required to play at certain times of the day, if you're casual, you just log on and join a random raid. You are also not forced or have to play the game for x number of hours to accomplish something, you can go at any pace you want, from horribly slow to extremely fast and in case you never raided in WoW, except Icecrown Citadel, Ulduar and Naxxramas, you can complete absolutely any raid in under 50 minutes. As for PvP it's as important as raiding if not more.
WoW is that kind of game, where you have what to do you don't need several games to find something interesting, it's exactly the same as playing 6 games in total for various chunks of time.So chrisrooR is living the same fantasy that he considers WoW players live, or anyone else that mentions WoW "myths" (since I doubt he only plays a single game).
I can't stand games for more than 40 hours, but in the last two years games suck so much I don't really have anything else to play for relaxation and when 15$ = more replay value than 700$+, then gaming in general is dead.
Extremely picky, I got absolutely all I wanted which is about 1/6 of the games I considered "interesting". Darksiders was the only surprise, I didn't care about it, got it on a whim since I was in the mood for something similar to DMC and I loved it. FPS genre is dead, all games are one and the same with different brands on the cover (last quality FPS was L4D, the last fun FPS was BC 2), I got the only decent/great RTSs, got the few decent RPGs released, racing was mediocre at best this year (first time I was terrible underwhelmed by a Codemasters game), for sports Fifa 11 was great, 2 TBSs and I'm not really interested in recent indie games.
I have quite a few games I'm looking forward to, but in the end I really doubt I'll actually get something other than Mass Effect 3, Diablo 3, SC 2 expansion, Cataclysm, DoW 2 expansion, Vietnam (hate BC 2 right now but I said that I'll get it if it'll be under 15, and they set the price at 15$), Dirt 3, Shogun 2, Crysis 2, Witcher 2, Batman, Rage, Dota 2 and Portal 2 in the next 2 years. Pretty much anything Valve, Blizzard, Relic, Bioware (except DaO)+ a few other series that I enjoyed so far.
A few games don't make gaming and those that I liked were decent, there isn't anything great on that list except 2 or 3 games (prequels), and a few games hardly make gaming alive and interesting.
[QUOTE="SRTtoZ"]Please tell me about that server....Make a Worgen on Kil'Jaeden.

its my favorite server hands down. Ive been on about 3-4 servers during my WoW career and KJ is by far the best. Its a PVP based server, very guild oriented, pretty even in terms of Horde vs. Ally etc.
wow... how about finding a new hobby then instead of griping about it on a gaming forum full of people that clearly like playing games (unlike you apparently)?A few games don't make gaming and those that I liked were decent, there isn't anything great on that list except 2 or 3 games (prequels), and a few games hardly make gaming alive and interesting.

and made getting around in classic zones a whole lot harder than it already was
That is in no way true. They made is ridiculously easier to get around. Hell, most of the time they will transport you in some way from quest hub to quest hub, or zone to zone when you're ready to move on. If that doesn't scream easy I don't know what does.

Yeah true, I think you need a new hobby.... If you think the only good game out there is World of Warcraft, then you are mistaken my friend....A few games don't make gaming and those that I liked were decent, there isn't anything great on that list except 2 or 3 games (prequels), and a few games hardly make gaming alive and interesting.

Here's the problem, I'm not, since WoW still is extremely fun, no game comes even close. People like different games, for me, there are no such games, all have been horribly underwhelming.A few games don't make gaming and those that I liked were decent, there isn't anything great on that list except 2 or 3 games (prequels), and a few games hardly make gaming alive and interesting.

You game for fun, to relax, WoW does all that for me, so gaming is great, but choices are limited except WoW, sorry to say but Roland's comment and what you aknowledged is a stupid conclusion, I don't have to play games that people consider cool to be able to play games, to have gaming as a hobby.

ok... so you dont play games that are legitimately good because they are considered cool? are you some sort of gaming snob or something? or consider yourself too good to play the same games everyone else does? im trying to understand your horribly... horribly convoluted method of determining whether or not a game is good....[QUOTE="DanielDust"]Here's the problem, I'm not, since WoW still is extremely fun, no game comes even close. Stop making up facts, start thinking, there is no such thing as legitimately good games, you like certain ideas from a certain game, it's at least decent in quality (few bugs and such) then it's good, there's no rule to games being good only your personal preferences. If we go by your flawed logic then CoD MW 2, Black Ops, Fable 2/3, and other garbage is actually excellent quality that will amaze you, yet they aren't, some are identical some are fun for 1 hour at most and so on. I want immersive games, not some quick action fix and then throw them somewhere and forget all about them.
There are lots of terribly underwhelming games, games that are rated with over 9 these days, I don't care, they are not fun, immersive, interesting and nobody has to understand my way of defining them since I'm me and the others are themselves. You like the AC 2 crap, then go on playing it, I'm not, I'm going to play other games that you consider crap.
See where this is going? it's not rocket science, bring a 4 year old kid here and he'll understand, maybe he'll give you some hints...
This is the last post in this thread, I didn't post the first thing in this thread to explain why I play games, I'm not some insecure guy that wasn't people to acknowledge their coolnes for playing highly rated games that must be cool just because they have a high score. Gaming as you said is a hobby not a statement or a trend.
wow.... i dont think i could disagree more with everything you said in this post. there IS such a thing is a legitimately good game. ill give you an example: super mario galaxy 2 the game is legitimately good. opinion becomes theory becomes fact when it is accepted as general truth by the majority of informed populace. the metacritic score for super mario galaxy 2 is 9+/10, the majority of informed populace has decided it is a legitimately good game. just because you dont like it does not mean it isnt a good game, because there is consensus that it is. if i am making stuff up... they arent "facts", as facts are truth and making something up is counter intuitive to truth. and aside from that.... what logic of mine are you going off of that says the COD games are amazing, exactly? please feel free to show me a quote of mine where i put forth "logic" that would support your apparent theory.... apparently you felt defensive enough about your stance on gaming that you decided to post 3 paragraphs of rage and insults defending yourself....[QUOTE="Roland123_basic"] ok... so you dont play games that are legitimately good because they are considered cool? are you some sort of gaming snob or something? or consider yourself too good to play the same games everyone else does? im trying to understand your horribly... horribly convoluted method of determining whether or not a game is good.... I'm just saying that you say all the games in the last 2 years are garbage..... which is wrong in my opinion, of course it comes down to personal taste... but great games have come out recently, which ARE immersive and all that you say. WoW USED to be immersive, back in Vanilla....now most of the time it's repetitive and broken in some parts which break the immersion. I just can't believe you say WoW is this awesome perfect game and the rest are crap.... sounds like fanboy material to me....Please Log In to post.
