complain about campers.... just because some players dont run around like F'in rambo so many people get bent out of shape about it... what someone basically says to me when they complain about camping is.... " i want you to run around like an idiot, to make youself an easier target."

now i can understand someone complaining about cheaters, like people that like to sit 100 feet above or below a level,, or teamkillers... or even spawn killers.( but some spawnkilling is unavoidable)....

bottom line i dont tell people to camp, so i expect not to be told (dont camp)... no one forces you to move from point to point... its a choice you make...

The term "camper" is over-used. It used to mean someone that camped the best power-up in a deathmatch game. In any other sense of the term "camper" you are just making it easy to find you next time and kill the hell out of you. Now it is thrown around for just about anything, to include games where you are SUPPOSED TO DEFEND AREAS.

Heh, that reminds me, one time (back when I had first started playing CS:S) I was T on dust2 and some dude and I were rushing B tunnels. Well he started going through the tunnel and I was running behind him, but then a CT popped out and shot at us, so he started backing up, but I was right behind him so he died. And then I died. Lots of cursing ensued. :lol:

Anyway, yeah I really don't like it when people accuse others of "camping." It's a legitimate tactic! Get over it!

Yep.. kids these days under estimate other gamers that they play with. You have to play with strategy. If running into a group of 3+ enemies and expecting to frag them all is what you want to do then more power to you. Most of us prefer to play more strategically and camp/ambush enemies. in cod4 ive shot many a camper through the wall (surprisingly, they dont move even though they are taking hits).

i feel camping is completely useless in deathmatch games, but it is useful in TDM, objective games. camping will not win you in many games, when i enter a room/new area im fully alert and ready to shoot anything that moves, whereas (beginner) campers will be bored and become un-alert and are therefore easy to kill. the cod4 hardcore DM server i play on, in terms of deaths im number 1-4, but i still win the game often enough.

personally i dont like to camp, it doesnt suit my playstyle (i prefer deathmatches, after all) and i do get annoyed sometimes at campers, spawnkillers, but i never blame them. As long as the game allows this, either this is a deliberate game mechanic or a design flaw
