I have always wanted aim assist for controllers when you play multiplayer pc games. Controllers are hard to use in a fps when theres no aim assist. It just doesnt feel right when you're used to it being on most games for the consoles.

Titanfall has been a blast since it has aim assist. I have even been getting more kills with it than using the kb/m.

Whats your opinion about aim assist on Titanfall? I love it.

Why would you play a shooter on a PC with a controller and then want aim assist?

Then why not get it on console? Controller in shooters is inferior.

If that's what you want you should get it on a console.

Although this raises an interesting point. Usually, there are other, undeniable reasons not to use a controller for a MP shooter on PC, regardless of personal preference or opinion. Mainly, the massive disadvantage it puts you at, since PC games don't have aim assist for MP. If Titanfall actually lets you have aim assist in MP if you play with a controller, that's just another reason to avoid it, then. Can't imagine the game being well balanced, or ever having any kind of legit competitive play, if aim assist is allowed, under any circumstance.

I like to play on my Nvidia Shield. Plus the graphics are better on pc. The aim assist is awesome in Titanfall though. You feel like how it is intended to be played with a controller.

You need aim assist to play a shooter on the PC? That's pretty pathetic. Shooters on the PC are extremely easy to become decent at.

Trolling confirmed. The only people who would willingly use a controller in a FPS game on the PC are people who are bad enough that it doesn't matter what control system they use.

EDIT: lol he deleted the post. 1/10 trolling effort.

I've been a console gamer most of my gaming life. I am far better with a controller than kb/m in shooters. I have a 3.5 kd in Titanfall vs players with 10 hours of play. So, haha?

L0L @ all the neckbeards raging about using controllers on PC. Who gives a flying f*ck what the kid uses? He made a good point noting this game accommodates controller users, unlike the majority of PC games, which is a perfectly noteworthy observation. Just saying he's using a controller doesn't make him a troll. I wouldn't use one myself, but maybe that's his preference or he plays consoles more. Gawd I can't even handle the pointless elitism.

I played some more with the controller. Its awesome how long I can play. The controller is so much more comfortable. The aim assist definitely helped me stay less frustrated.

Thats the way all pc games should be.

It all depends on preference . If you want to play Titanfall with controller and enjoy it more that way then good for you . However , not every PC game should prioritize controller because we are tired of games being dumbed down .

Playing with a KB+M is all the aim assist anybody needs on the PC. It's so precise it blows controllers out of the water. Even with the aim assist of a controller, PC gamers will stomp you.

There is aim assist in Titanfall? is that when a controller is detected? if not... then thats some subtle aim assist.

Not that it matters. fun is fun.... elitst like counter-strike which bores me to tears.... and lol at just crouch n tap gameplay..... I dunno, I would rather the bloody aim assist.

I'll like to tell everyone about a thing we tried at work.

Most of the guys at work are FPS gamers, mostly COD but also Battlefield and now Titanfall.

We have different levels of skill obviously, ranging from very good to ok.

One of the very good players also plays on Playstation. It's amazing because he plays great both on KB/Ms as well as Controller.

He configured his Playstation3 controller to work on PC, and then configured it for COD. He put the sensitivity to maximum and went online with us. Believe it or not, he was always in the top 3 on the table, and doing really well (and that's without aim assist).

I agree a player with a controller is going to be in a disadvantage against KB/Ms, but you would be surprised at how well some console gamers play with one.

So I just want to mention this again, because nobody else seems to be talking about what I believe is the biggest issue presented here.

If the game allows aim assist, even if it's just for people playing with a controller, how can legit, balanced competitive play ever be expected? There are people who seem to think Titanfall is going to be the "next COD", and take competitive gaming by storm. How is that going to happen if the PC version has a bunch of people using Xbox controllers and aim assist? A single player game is different. It's just a matter of preference there, and giving aim assist for using a controller doesn't hurt anything. But this is MP only. Players need to be on the same level.

9/10 a skilled player with a m/kb will kill a skilled player with an Xbox controller (even with aim assist).

This, but like others have said... the shooting isn't the end all in Titanfall... movement is just as important (if not more important).

Let me start saying that "CoD" NEVER "took the competitive scene by storm." it was that big casual elephant in the room that had MLG crap ect because it prints money, not because it was good for competition, and its dwindled over the years.

That being said. quite clearly Titanfall is not aimed at that crowd of gamers.... not every fps needs to be about "who can mouse-tap tjhe other slow moving persons head down a corridor first" granted, that happens in Titanfall.... but with my 250 games played... my time spent is pretty even between pilot and titan.... ITS NOT LIKE EVERY OTHER MILITARY SHOOTER.

Competitive gaming? why? why is it essential? its not. CoD was about accessibility... it essentially dumbed down the competitive shooter to a more approachable "fun for more people" kind of gameplay.... and it worked. Just like League of Legends did for the MoBA genre.... we all know DoTA/2 is the most skillful, and hon and even other games... but look which one is more popular and played?

There IS a high skill ceiling on Titanfall..... the way some of us play compare to the majority there is a MASSIVE gap. but the game resembles pure fun and variety similar to playing different classes in TF2 (which I would play over repetitive 1-track-mind-s*it like Counterstrike any day.).

250 games played, 3.8 PLAYER k/d ratio, 82% win, 153 MVP wins out of the 250 games.

competitive? I dont care about pixel perfect boring headshots over and over again personally. any shooter can be competitive.... I value fun in that competition far more than "EMEGHERD HIS PRECISION WHILE MOVING AT 1 MILE PER HOUR IS SO IMPRESSIVE".

I fergot to mention, private servers are coming, they have confirmed them in development right now. and its also been confirmed that they will be dedicated servers on microsoft azure like the normal servers. and will be FREE. thats right, free private dedicated servers.

If they do end up adding the pilot-only mode then you have your wishes.... no doubt they will include a "no auto-aim" for private servers.

I wont touch that crap though, youve turned a great fun experience into a lame CoD clone with verticle play... only pilot vs pilot... how boring... buh buh DAT COMPETITIVE twitch crap right? -_-;

private servers is currently being worked on, it just didn't make it into release. pilot mode was "a possibility, although it would never replace the main mode... since thats not what titanfall is about" paraphrased.

no auto aim is a guess, but given that the majority seem to play with mouse its a non-issue.

I play on the Xbox One, but seriously I would not play with aim-assist, I'd feel like I'm cheating myself no matter how many kills I could get.

yes, the live ones are dedicated. but quite a few past games that claim dedicated (e.g older CoDs, gears of war 3 ect) ONLY had dedicated servers on ranked play. Private Servers were still P2P ... so people were worried that TF's private servers were going to be P2P (since it costs the company more and they dont really benefit from people playing in private bubbles). but Vince has confirmed that they will not charge us like EA ect does ... its all going to be through azure too.

people can say what they want about microsoft and xbox.... but I LOVE the fact that they have invested heavily into dedicated servers for this gen, and also share them with the PC version... I hope it happens more.

granted its a 6 vs 6 game not 32 vs 32... which no doubt made it an easier decision.

I love it.

don't you hate the fact that anyone who's older than 3 years can also insta-blast your ass in that game with his/her eyes closed simply because aim-assist needs no skill or accuracy?

i loathe games that use aim assist.

if you want EVEN MORE kills, try aimbot.

e: oh he's just trolling. meh.

I don't troll. It is though up to the persons own interpretation to believe something is trolling. People take different tones the wrong way in real life. No different here.

I hope new games come out and have aim assist for pc. I'll take my gaming pc to my brother house soon to play on the 70 inch tv. It will be cool that when I let him play, it won't be any different from the console version in how it plays.

I have to admit even though the mouse is a better way to play. There are people who suck with a mouse that know how to use it well. Those people would be against it because even controller noobs can beat them. Not saying its the people in here, but you got to realize some people suck even with the mouse.

This made me think of something else. When a game gets color blind support then naturally that makes the game harder for the normal players too. Since theres less people who are prone to the disadvantages of being color blind.

I played some more with the controller. Its awesome how long I can play. The controller is so much more comfortable. The aim assist definitely helped me stay less frustrated.

Thats the way all pc games should be.

There was a time, not that long ago, that aimbot'ing was regarded as cheating in a game. What next built in wall hacks...oh!

I like to play on my Nvidia Shield. Plus the graphics are better on pc. The aim assist is awesome in Titanfall though. You feel like how it is intended to be played with a controller.

Trolling confirmed. The only people who would willingly use a controller in a FPS game on the PC are people who are bad enough that it doesn't matter what control system they use.

EDIT: lol he deleted the post. 1/10 trolling effort.

this is the same TC that kept bragging about pissing away like 2 grand on an alienware with a 650 in it
