Here's a few off the top of my head that I enjoyed:
Atlantica Online
Cabal Online
Runes of Magic
Perfect World International
And while I haven't tried it, I heard that Allods Online was pretty good.
[QUOTE="Agent_Kaliaver"] So I can choose Good Free? That wouldn't make much sense because then what would it have to do with an MMORPG? I always dislike when people say free MMOs can't be good. I mean if you are expecting WoW or some other pay for game quality then you will be disappointed, but you would be a fool you even expect that. It is just like movies, a awful movie can still be awesome if your expectations are low enough.James00715Anyone who asks for a good and free MMO is expecting that. They are looking for a free MMO that's as good as a paid one. Otherwise why would they look for a free MMO in the first place? There is no such thing as a good and free MMO. I mean there are a bunch that will give you some fun early on, but they are all repetitive and grindy. On top of that they technically aren't free when you get to the higher level content. You end up having to pay real money to get the items needed to progress. I've talked to a lot of free MMO players who are far along. All of them have stated they pay about the same amount per month as a paid MMO ($15). Some of them even pay more because of the extra benefits you get. Ive invested hundreds of hours into both Runes of magic and Perfect world and have not spent a dime. You DON'T have to spend ANY money and I know what I am getting from F2P. I have gotten more enjoyment out of the hours put into those free games than I have some commercial products.
No its not.... But anyway, FREE and GOOD MMORPG rarely come together.... it's sometimes better to pay and enjoy the experience...World Of Warcraft it's free after you pay 50 bucks for the game

Good + Free + MMO = Not going to happen.
You will have to pick betwen good and free. If you take free you might get a average game at best that will require you to grind for 400h to get a "ok" item only to make it "downgrade" back to level 0 when you fail to upgrade it again.
Guildwars does not require a subscription and i think you can buy it off steam with all expansions for a couple of bucks (read this a view days ago on gamespot). So i would say get that as it is closest to the quality of the subscription MMORPG's. If you want totaly free i suggest you read this list http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm and customize the filter to only show free games and order it by hype/ranking. Now just go from top to bottem and download anything you might find interesting.
-edit-
don't listen to those people, there are plenty of free mmorpg's that are pretty good. Offcourse don't expect it to be top quality with millions of players online all time. But those intuitive people that bring ot free games are pretty clever how to make things work. Also if you participate in there community you will be able to have MUCH more influence on how the game works then greedy companies. The downpart for me is most free games are more of a grind and you have a major been there done that feeling if you have played some good MMORPG's.
Dead Frontier is pretty fun. It's a zombie survival MMO that is pretty immersive. For now it's a 2d game, but 3d is in the works, and looks pretty fun. You can check it out at http://deadfrontier.com a blog is being hosted updating you on the progress of the 3d transition. Spewagedgeeze that game is horrible, played it and end up not playing it ever again.
I can't believe you guys underestimate free mmorpg's. Perfect World Interational. Ever Heard of it? I like it more than WoW, and it was free.
that game isnt that good. i played that also and found it decent at first, till it felt like i was doing the same quest over and over again.I can't believe you guys underestimate free mmorpg's. Perfect World Interational. Ever Heard of it? I like it more than WoW, and it was free.

getting that game to properly download (update) and install is stressing. Rahnyc4So THAT'S the reason why you don't like it ?

Simple.
There are tons of Good, Free MMO's. The question is; How entertained do you want to be at MAX level.
-Just wanna play for Leveling? Try Zu online. 300 levels. Although the leveling speed is fast.
-Want the best WoW clone yet? Runes of magic.
-Want cutesy? Maple Story.
-Got a few bucks to burn? Guild Wars.
-Generally good? Fiesta Online, Flyff
-"Freemium?" Dungeons and Dragons online., Chronicles of Spellborn.
-Promising MMO with excellent graphics? Allods online (installing actually is quite stressing when tryin to D/L the 6mbs (megabytes) patch that takes forever
Problem with all these is that you ~WILL~ quit at some point. Nothing to do at max level but solo and/or 5man party grind random mobs for what ever reason.
Where's the delicious carrot on a stick?

Is this really an issue when you have invested hundreds of hours into a FREE game? Who cares if theres nothing beyond the end game content (which is not entirely true for all games, as at least with Runes of Magic, they have some decent additions with Chapter three releasing shortly with an increased level cap and more high level content not to mention the introduction of the Tideborn in Perfect World Int.... ) These games while free still have additional content that may or may not bring those who "got there fill" out of it back..They released Tiberian Sun for free didn't they? As well as the original C&C and Red Alert.[QUOTE="Steameffekt"]
Good + Free don't come together.
