Hello Gamers! ive been converted to pc gaming lately after many years on consoles, plus at the moment i cant afford a new console so im new and dull to these things. but i was bought GTA4 for the pc at christmas but wasnt able to play it due to the graphics card wasnt good enough. i know have a nvidea 8500gt 512 i think in my machine. but when i play the game i get realy bad lag at times speacily in mid mission. this can happen after an hour of play or sometimes as soon as the game starts. any ideas? iIm running a amd 64 x2 dual core proc 5000+ @ 2.61ghz, 2gb ram, along with 8500gt graphics card. also what is better nvidea9400gt 1gb or an ati 4650 1gb? pls make thing as plain as possable as i dont know the terms and stuff. thank you
Both the 9400 and the 8500 are bad cards and the 4650 has a real low bandwidth rate at 128-bit so the 512MB of vram won't be fully used. Also GTA4 is really resource hungry especially in the CPU area so the 5000+ still might choke even with a new videocard. I guess what is your price range on this stuff?
Well is money is a concered then I guess the 4650 would be your best bet in your situation since it has a higher core clock then the 9400, so that might be your best bet if money is tight like you say.
