is it easy to swap out a single core cpu for a dual core one while keeping all your other hardware?

As said, depends on the motherboard. It also depends on the chipset mostly that the motherboard has.

nope, you'll need to know what model of p4, what mobo, and You'll also want to take this to the PC hardware forum.

Well, you can google your pc model, see if something comes up, (i'm assuming it's prebuilt and nothings been changed up too much) Theres also some programs that'll do it, i can't think of any off hand.

well actually my brother-in-law built it, he owns a computer buissness and he built this one for the family but its mine now
