I should have bought a quad-core instead of a dual-core.

I doubt the game was threaded for a quad core cpu. Systemrequirementslab sucks anyway.

Why would you listen to people here? anyways you dont need to upgrade, it will still run great on 3.0ghz dual core.

+1 for both of those.

System Requirements lab is neat, but close to worthless, and the advise that is given here is usually by some 13 year old kid that wants to sound like he knows what he is talking about.

Lesson, use more than just one source for making your decisions. Ask more places than Gamespot what upgrades to get, and take what SRL says with a grain of salt.

But yeah, unless they made a coding miracle, GTA4 will only run slightly better, if at all, with a quad.

It's only GTAIV though, so no big loss. San Andreas is a much more enjoyable game.

Even if it supports quad core, it won't be a requirement. They've already waited so long that most people that wanted the game have bought it on consoles, and to punish those that waited by requiring quad core is just going to shoot rockstar in the foot sales-wise.

A dual core will be fine, a quad would also be good.

Woa I don't even meet the minimum requirements for this game (2.5 GB ram). Considering the PS3 only has 265 MB ram + 256 MB video ram this doesn't sound too good.

Even if it recommended Quad-Core, a Dual-core will run fine. You do realize 50% of PC gamers or more are still running dual-cores right? I'm sure game developers know that and they can't be that dumb.

50% ? More like 50 % is stlil using a single core CPU and 0.5% has a quad-core.

My friend told me that the quad-core requierement is for people who want to play a lot with the pedestral/traffic bar (ie insane amount of car in the street). Anyway, I got a Q6600, maybe it will be useful for once :D
