Well, it is called an ethernet cable (cable, not cord), and it will cost how much u want it to cost (stealing, or buying). Yes it is possible to LAN, otherwise people wouldn't have huge LAN's such as PDXLAN and Showdown LAN, etc. Another option, if you can't afford an ethernet cable, is to have a fight with your computers. Whoever can knock the other unconcsious first wins.

Well if both computers already have a LAN/ethernet port, then networking two computers will be as simple as buying a crossover cable to connect the first computer to another.

If you plan to have more computers connected to the LAN, then you need to buy a network switch.
