I'm quite curious about it and I have a few questions. To anyone who has tried it out, is it worth it? There's about 50 parts to one download option is it not exhausting to install that way? Does it really improve the experience?

It does make half life 2 look beautiful, and why dont you download it using fileplanet download manager? its only one file (11gb, yes it is huge) but less of a hassle.

edit: here is the link, you`ll have to register, but i think its worth it (its free)

http://www.fileplanet.com/196013/190000/fileinfo/Half-Life-2---FakeFactory-Cinematic-Mod-v10.2-Final-Complete

I suggest looking at the character pimper once you download it and pick the models you like.

Great, thanks! I'll get to it soon. I'm glad you can choose the models also. I like the original Alyx one. It just seems blasphemous when you change her so much.

I really liked it, I was using it on my 3rd playthrough and it was a whole new experience... and I definitely agree on the Alyx models, HD original is the way to go.

I say no, everytime I install the Cinematic mod I always uninstall it because I prefer the crappier looking original. But, I guess if you're playing HL2 for the first time, sure why not. It is a big graphical step up. But I'm not graphics whore and I prefer the original.

Hey i am just wondering if there is a way to open it without Winzip. When i try to open the setup i get a message saying my 45 day trial of Winzip is over and i need to register it. Will 7-zip or another program work?

The files will be saved somewhere, you do get the option to look at the folder in the download manager, so no need to worry. If you have winrar, you shouldnt have any troubles. You dont have to extract the files anywhere either.

You're close to my spec so you should run it fine. You do have a 64-bit OS though?

Same. Plus the in-game loading moments between areas are soooo long with CM. (BTW just find a torrent, it's about 10gb)

you don't necessarily need a 64-bit OS. You just need to know how to allow Vista to use 3 gb of ram on a single program for a 32-bit OS.
