This is my second PC build, last one was during AMD's x64dominance, I been out of PC Gaming for the most part and just want to get back in (it may have a little to do with theDiablo 3 annoucement but eh). I also work a lot with H.264 video and Photoshop, I hope my research in this system was well placed.

Rate my rig:

CPU: i7 920 2.66GHz (May push it to 3.6GHz)

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12P

MOBO: Asus P6T 1366 Intel X58

RAM: G. Skill 6GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD4890 1GB OC Edition

PSU: Corsair 750TX

HD: WD Black 640GB (Not really sure if Raid 0 is worth it) thoughts?

OS: Vista 64

Case: Antec Nine Hundred Two (Loved the big fans)

and the usuals DVD Drive/Burner, mouse, etc.

This is a complete build no carryover parts used.

$1600

Um. That's Awseome. My Suggestions: Get a modular PSU. And I like the Cosmos more then the Antec 902.

Indeed, sweet rig. It'll do you proud for years. Oh, and no, I personally don't reckon RAID is worth it, the real world performance gains aren't that great. Although if you've got a bit of cash to burn you could add an SSD drive for your games and OS, that will give you a tangible benefit. Be wary of cheap one's though, they often perform worse than a normal HDD, especially at writing. The Intel one's are awesome.
