i'd be intersted
but uh
it depends if the game appeals to hitscan lovers like moi or rocket people
(as in all aim, or positioning)

Quake 4 was all about positioning rather than aim.

Faster paced will def appeal more to rocket people... and will upset noobs who can't strafe jump.

Meh. Unless Quake 5 was like the original Quake - an eerily atmospheric single-player/co-op experience with a freaky Lovecraftian vibe about it - I wouldn't be interested. I kinda hated the direction they went with Quake II and all that followed.

I would rather see them concentrate on a pure multiplayer experience based off of Arena. New maps, graphics, more character creation options, and such. The single player in the past few games has been ok, but nothing I wouldn't miss. Not sure if they could capture the same feeling as Arena, but I would still like to see them try.

I liked Quake 2, so perhaps a spiritual sequel to that?

Wouldn't really see the point considering Quake live is goiing strong as a arena shooter. Single player on the other hand.

That would be awsome. Keep the physics and weapons, but add improved lighting and shaders, of course some new maps, but keep the old ones too. Imagine using the Rage engine for Q3. id could easily make it happen IMO, yet they decided to create qlive instead.. Same game, just ruined by ads and priced content. It's sad because in Qlive, you pay for new maps. In Q3, you simply download them freely. At least it has close integration with the browser interface.

I'd be cautious. Quake's history has been:

Quake 1: geared more for multiplayer

Quake 2: had an actual story

Quake 3: pure multi

Quake 4: Had a story

Quake 5: ......

History says it would be pure multi which isn't my thing.

I have played through Quake 4 SP so many times, one of my favorite games of all time. I would love to see a Quake 5 with updated graphics and great multiplayer.

quake 4 sp was really boring

way too slow paced for quake

And I mean the multiplayer for quake 4 is the fastest of any quake, they should use the same physics for both sp and mp.

Also the strogg are really lame, the whole hell thing is much more interstin

Gameplay wise I would agree but the story didn't really satisfy me. I thought Quake 2 and 4 were much better for single player.

I would get it. Quake 4 was great, fantastic enemy variety, awesome guns, eerie scenery.

If they do do it, they need to do a follow up to Quake1. Big husking monsters, lava pits, satanic imagery, medievil steampunk weapons and rocket jumping.

Thats just what the industry needs right now.
