One last thing guys that I forgot to mention. Now, I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but have you two ever used "gaming" surround headphones?I know the Audio Technica + Asus Xonar sounds amazing, but have you used the gaming ones to compare it to?
The thing that keeps driving me to the Turtle Beach are the 4 drivers on each ear with 3 x 3.5mm Surround Plugs, while the AT are just one plug...???
Thanks againFelipeInside
It's insulting that - after all of these users have gone through this effort to both educate you and offer suggestions - you would come back with this response.
Seriously.

LOL, I knew you would take it like that and I am truly sorry if I offended you.
I wasn't trying to say that the "gaming" headsets sound better, which I know they don't, just asking on a scale of 1-10 how they would compare. (if u used them, do they sound OK, good etc)
I've preorded the Audio Technica myself, but I am one of those guys that likes to know EVERYTHING, or as much as possible.
Sorry again if I offended anyone.
Since you're ignoring what everyone says, I suggest you purchase this surround headset and a nice set of headphones, try them out, and return the ones you don't want.
I'm not ignoring what everyone says. I finished purchasing the Audio Tecnicas and they sound amazing. Will maybe purchase the sound card down the track. Sorry if I came across like that, I sometimes ask TOO many questions :(Since you're ignoring what everyone says, I suggest you purchase this surround headset and a nice set of headphones, try them out, and return the ones you don't want.

Well said. With FelipeInside's budget of $150, he can get a decent set of headphones. And if he wants, I think he can get the Asus Xonar external soundcard for about $50 (right?) and then still have $100 to spend on a decent pair of headphones. FelipeInside - Consider that there are decent earbuds selling in the $100 range that will provide you with good quality sound, especially for gaming.Let me make things simple here.
Do not buy headphones or headsets that use USB.
Do not buy gaming headphones or headsets, they are overpriced and generally suck.
Things such as 5.1/7.1 in a headphone is a gimmick.
You should purchase a pair of quality stereo headphones from a reputable brand (if a microphone is needed get a clip on microphone).
If you're worried about the quality of sound from your current soundcard, you may consider purchasing something inexpensive such as the Asus Xonar DG (this also has Dolby headphone which can help simulate a surround sound using stereo headphones).
Finally, always plug your headphones directly into the soundcard as to obtain the best audio quality.

DO YOU ALL NOT READ MY LATEST POSTS ??? lol...
I said about 3 times already that I have followed everyone's advise and now am proud owner of the Audio Tecnicas which sound amazing.
lol tbh i don't understand the hype with surround anyway, we only have two ears!! Nothing wrong with stereo, plus your computer or receiver can have a virtual surround mode, buying a "gaming" headphone isn't worth it esp. since the quality will be lesser on the dang things! Surround or not.X360PS3AMD05While surround in headphones (virtual surround anyway) is pretty bad, proper speaker surround makes perfect sense. Yes, you have 2 ears, but you can still perceive the direction of sound very easily.

I'm also going to order the Asus Xonar DG so I can get virtual surround. Unfortunately the way my games room is set up makes it really difficult to put cables through to the back for a normal 5.1 surround speaker system, and I've heard wireless rear speakers are bad and affect ur wireless internet, so I'm trying to get the best out of headphones.
