[QUOTE="YoshiYogurt"][QUOTE="bluemantan"] Well, I can't afford two computers. The deal is done guys, sold my macbook pro on craigslist for $1650, sold my 27 inch monitor for $250, bought a 27 inch imac off amazon for $1900. Broke evenbluemantan
Congratulations! $2000 thrown away! You should have got a $1000 gaming pc and the $1000 macbook to suit your osx obsession.

Money thrown away is buying a computer that gets error messages every other hour.

Spoken like a true Apple fanatic :P

best of luck with your new imac, I hope you get all the enjoyment and functionality from it you were looking for.

I'm no mac fan but my wife is, she's a graphic designer and swears by them so it's an old argument in my house :)

If its a new macbook pro, upgrading to an imac isn't that big of an upgrade especially since it only has 6970M. hope it works out for you but it won't be able to run at 1440p since it only has 1GB of video ram.

Just don't say we didn't warn you when a couple years down the line your iMac isn't running games as well as it used to and you need to make a thread talking about how you need to replace the whole thing. Also you still need to pay for a Windows license with the iMac unless you are pirating.

Why don't you just get a PC and DUAL BOOT!!!! GAAHHHHHH

Richard_The_Gr8
Jesus christ man you have never worked with OSX have you like at all to even understand how it functions? The hackintosh scene is very very selective on what machines will work without having to do a ton of your own scripting or building upon the existing Darwin kernel. It isn't as simple to just say dual boot because it just isn't going to work like that. I'm sure you probably think Mac's have an actual BIOS haha.

Right, because when you build a pc, windows 7 falls out of the sky... And don't say its free on prebuilts, because Windows prebuilts nightmare pieces of crap

Why are window prebuilts "nightmare pieces of crap" and not mac prebuits? =P

My desktop doesn't get error messages every other hour, actually I've had no issues at all. That's honestly just ignorant and biased right there, I love my MacBook Pro but I can still say that Mac isn't necessarily superior to Windows. I just prefer it by a whole hell of a lot.

When you grow out of the closed world, let us know, yea?

Did I say you get Win7 for free? You already bought a $1900 computer with an OS and you still need to spend an extra $100 on Windows 7 to play games.

Ok... so instead of going with a solid $1000 windows gaming pc and Mac air (which is the best laptop aside from macpro in my opinion) you blew $1900 on an iMac.... Yeah the iMac looks great...but look on ebay and you will find tons of perfectly great computers with broken screens or perfectly great screens with broken computers.... I don't understand why you wanted to trade the best laptop in the world for an inferior desktop when you could have had the best of both worlds??? I use my mac when I travel (which is often) and it gets greatttt battery life, which when coupled with super fast startup and shut down times make it #1 in my opinion. While I use my desktop for normal "serious" use. Anyway.. good luck to you

Lol, a 6970M!? I very much doubt you'll be maxing Skyrim with that, especially at that resolution.
