What's that over there? Oh, it's my mind IT JUST GOT BLOWN.

I saw this in another thread before and I had GTA IV for my PS3 a while ago,. But this mod has convinced me to re buy it for my PC. I think its the best mod ever created for a game. Never have I seen such a huge difference from vanilla in a game
This mod looks amazing and all but too bad it works terribly on the newest patch(1.0.7.0) steam version. I heard IcenHancer 1.2.5 BETA will have the newest support so I really can't wait for that! I did everything to make Ice1.2 run on the steam version. I reinstalled the game multiple times, tried to patch to 1.0.4.0 and still it didn't work. I think I just have to wait for 1.2.5...

Yeah it doesn't work on the steam version and works very poorly on anything other than 1.0.4 because of shader problems. It also doesn't work on the Episodes from liberty city version. Its only new so all these problems will be ironed out eventually.
Simply cancel the update, it asks you if you want to update, you can refuse.I have a question, I'm running 1.04 right now and it's working, but gfwl wont let me save unless I sign in. When I sign in It tells me I have to update to 1.07 or It signs me out and I can't save. How is anyone bipassing this!

A flipping powerful one. My CrossFired 6850's are chugging quite hard with most things maxed (1920x1080), it seems like the xfire is no longer been recognised or utilized correctly after applying the mod. What type of machine do you need to run this at a decent frame rate?

Disable your crossfire, it doesn't run well with GTA4. It doesn't even use multi cores. What type of machine do you need to run this at a decent frame rate?

Well said, My GTX 260 is handling everything at 1080p with a huge texture mod aswell.. my eflc takes up 1.7gb video ram but somehow my 896mb 260 is doing fine, everything is maxed apart from detail 75 and distance 40 with shadows on high. Disable clip capture it wil improve ur performancefrom the uploader, on what it requires
[QUOTE="Uploader"]It will. Of course it will.
My computer is only an iMac with a Core i7 @ 2.97 and a little Radeon 5750 which is mid-range.
Using GTA4 on 1.0.4.0
It''s gonna work on lastest patchs + EFLC later , like next week .deathshand707

That's kind of funny because in the comments you can see people flexing their e-peens about their rigs and how it's not able to handle the game. What's sad if that my old MacBook Pro with a T9300 and an 8600M GT was able to run GTAIV just fine with about 40 FPS, although some of the more GPU intensive things weren't turned on such as AA and AF, but shadows and whatnot, all there.
Makes you scratch your head sometimes, I know it was a bad port, but really?
It's 100MB. Runs decent on my rig, but not all that great to be honest. I'm sure if I had shared memory turned on, I'd be in a much better position.theafiguyDid you download the texture pack as well? That's 7 GB. You need that and the iCEhancer.
^Wondering how it would run.

You are familiar with my system with my 560 Ti and I get o0ver 30 fps with this mod. The lowest I dropped to was 24 fps when I had 5 star wanted level and shot down 2 heli's.so I average about 35 fps give or take. But the game is quite spectacular with this mod on. There are instances of bad harsh lighting but there are also some cases of sheer photorealism that really astound you when playing. I never thought GTA IV could look this good. But it definitely isn't for everyone. you have to appreciate really bold lighting effects. I personally love it though. I spent about 3 hours just driving around marvelling at everything :P

The texture pack messed up my game and made it lag like hell. And it didn't look all too different. But I did get the newer version of the GTXD road textures and they look great. Where are you guys getting 100MB from? the iCEnhancer is only like 2.8 MB

That's just a link to the Mediafire.
I don't see a big difference. I haven't played the game in a while but I ran it high graphics. Only thing I see different in this video is a stronger motion blur, reflection on the cars, and custom cars used.jakes456
Its a complete lighting overhaul. Which makes the game look spectacular in motion. The night time scenes are very pretty. But a word of warning to everyone. This mod sets heats up your GPU a lot. I normally get around 55-60 degrees and with this mod I was getting a good 10 degrees more.
I didn't see the texture pack, I thought it was just iCE, because that did make a difference on the game's overall look. Can you link me to the texture pack please? theafiguyhttp://www.fileplanet.com/209529/200000/fileinfo/Grand-Theft-Auto-4---Better-City-Textures-Mod Took me a long time to download, but was well worth it.
[QUOTE="theafiguy"]Thank you very much!SpellingiscoolNo problemo. Did it work?
I have an extremely slow connection for the time being, so it's still downloading. It's rate is rather meh, which I expected, but it'll be done today and if people want, I can post screenshots of what it looks like on my rig, so at least some of the more mid-range folk can know what they're expecting.
