indian game compatibility

I recently bought two pc games from india (landmark book store if anyone is familiar with it): Portal 2 and Batman Arkham Asylum. However, I don't know if these games are region free or region locked and if they will work on my pc back in the U.S. Some sources say that Portal 2 is region locked (dont know about batman) but I want someone else to confirm it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure Portal is region locked. When you try to activate it on Steam it will say "incorrect teritory" or something like that.As for Batman, I think thats region free.
