My computer currently have 512MB of RAM. I just bought a 1GB. Why when I install it, I get a black screen when I turn my pc on? It seems like Windows wouldn't boot. But when I take it, Windows boots fine. Is there something wrong? I'm sure that the RAM I just bought is compatible to my PC. Thanks.

maybe try updating the bios, and put 1gb in the first slot and 512 in the second.

And you could also try clearing the cmos after you insert the new stick.

Make sure you have it clipped in all the way, that was the problem I had once, Just make sure its ALL the way in. It also could be defective.
