Hey check out this Escapist Magazine online article about World of Warcraft called "This WoW Infographic Presents Quite a Few Really Big Numbers". There are figures and charts showing roughly how much money it costs Blizzard to keep WoW running, how much they're earning, and more. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/110604-This-WoW-Infographic-Presents-Quite-a-Few-Really-Big-Numbers Reply with your thoughts on this. Oh and just to prevent another ridiculous argument over the subscription base, they have 11.5 million ACTIVE subscribers that have paid for their game time. This does NOT include people that canceled their subscription and stopped playing.

I don't understand the "legendary items" thing.

In my server there were a dozen of legendaries between Sulfuras-es and Thunderfury-es back in classic.

5.5M lines of codes? That's...big :O

I think they're talking about the FIRST person to obtain the specific legendary item. Just like many guild have downed certain bosses, this study only mentions the world firsts.

In other words, they're making over $100 million/month in profit. Good for them. It's a lot of work and it pays dividends.

A lot of that info was kind of hard to understand. The facts about servers and creation time were neat though.
