For under $25 please direct yourself away from those sony offerings and toward a pair of koss ksc75s. They are clip. attractive looking and blow the ipod earphones away. They are available at your local ratshack for the price of $25 and online for about $20. The ones at radioshack also offer a volume silder.

I know my headphones, I am the past owner of one very overpriced pair of bose triports and current owner of a pair of sennheiser hd 595s ($150 on overstock) and hd 280s ($50 on ebay). Both are far better than anything bose can come up with at this time. The previous poster is mistaken when saying the "bose is teh uber!!"
I recommend both Panasonic's RP-HJE50s and Sony's EX51s, which should be available online for $25, probably less.
The EX51s are better suited for the iPod, though, since they're not flat in terms of frequency response. Normally that's not a good thing, but since the iPod equalizer settings suck, you actually end up with slightler richer sound.
The HJE50 are pretty comparable - not as boomy bass, slightly better treble. Downside is that the cord is a bit thin.
I'm not familiar with other styles of headphones, though - I'm an in-ear guy.
