no, and that is what we call hypocrisy, i.e. "OMG this game is ported from xbox" this week, and next week its "OMG this game is being ported to xbox"
wait, is that hypocrisy? Or is that double standards? I dont know any more, all I know is that my brothers and sisters in PC gaming are driving me more and more crazy by the day.
So no, to make it short, I am not frustrated. I am happy. CD Projekt deserves all the money they can earn, in my opinion, for making such an amazing sequel to an amazing game...no small feat these days.
This. More money for the devs, fine by me.Nowadays, you should be happy it wasn't the other way around.

Its irritating cuz we're losing another exclusive but then again they do want more success and money so...what can you do. Its annoying but all devs go down this road - now we just have to see if they become like the CoD crowd or if they become like the Blizzard/Valve crowd who can go for money grabs and still provide quality games. Gamesterpheonix"We are losing an exclusive"? Wow. Just wow.
Exactly !!! Lots of people on this forum complain when a console game is exclusive, or when it takes more time to come out on PC. But a PC game goes the other way.....they get mad? WTF?no, and that is what we call hypocrisy, i.e. "OMG this game is ported from xbox" this week, and next week its "OMG this game is being ported to xbox"

Didnt you get the memo? We PC Gamers are special.
:P
Only reason it bothers me is because PC is losing exclusives while the consoles are getting ours, but we aren't getting the same number back from console exclusive developers. Why don't we get MGS2, 3, and Peace Walker HD ports? Why don't we get multiplat games like Vanquish or LA Noire?
Very true... but that's because of greedy/lazy developers who just go for the console crowd. If a developer like Projekt wants to pan out... then I wish them all the luck (AS LONG AS THEY RESPECT THEIR ROOTS)Only reason it bothers me is because PC is losing exclusives while the consoles are getting ours, but we aren't getting the same number back from console exclusive developers. Not really. The thing about porting from PC to Console is that you can always downsize the game and the technology, but it's a lot harder to upgrade it for the PC after release. This way, everbody gets the best experience possible, provided they do a good job with integrating controllers.
I think we've done alright. I mean we got Mass Effect 1 which was a 360 exclusive, and they got The Witcher 1... Oh.
Besides, CD Projekt will want to keep GOG on the go, and they have been really supportive towards the PC audience. I just hope they use the same model of taking advantage of what the PC has, and then configure it to work on consoles.
This is like so old news that people have known it since the first UI screenshot. The game is good note not great due to alot of flaws (one of them being the UI). Overall i dont care if a game get ported aslong as the PC version get its own version. Thats why i hope we will see a huge patch that fix the UI, delays, lack of information, performance issues and alot more...I heard about this thought I saw it coming.

Why would we be that? The game has'nt suffered from the future transition in any significant way. It's nowhere near the insult that Crysis 2 is basically ;)
I have no problems with tW2 being ported to consoles or any other PC game. What bothers me is when a game is developed for the PC with consoles in mind and design decisions dictate that some things have to be omitted or changed because the consoles can't handle it.
I don't really care about a game being exclusive as long as it isn't a piss poor port...here's looking at you Saints Row 2 and SW:TFU.
The 360 version isn't going to sell as well as the PC version, but more money for CDProjekt Red is a good thing as they clearly support our platform.
Who cares? It's not like The Witcher (either of them to be honest) doesn't already have console-like action to begin with. The Witcher 2, especially, seems like it was designed with an eye on eventual porting. What in the game couldn't be done with a controller? Heck, the crappy twitch combat seems like it would actually work better with a controller.
Anyone who thinks The Witcher 2 isn't already a console-ish, action-RPG (albeit a pretty good one) is fooling themselves.
People still believe in big AAA PC exclusives? :?
Joke on the side I don't see why anyone would be "frustrated" that they're porting it to the consoles. They'll earn more and that's good for them and their future projects. So you're either regreting upgrading your PC because you could also play it on the console or you're just a PC fanboy.
Unless you're afraid they'll "consolize" their future projects. But I think CD Projekt are commited to the PC platform first and foremost so those fears are unjustified imo.
[QUOTE="Travis281"]This. More money for the devs, fine by me. Yeah, word. Besides that, if you've been following The Witcher 2, at least a year ago (the 'Engine' videos from Summer 2010) they were talking about how they made sure to design the engine such that it'd scale to consoles, as they planned on porting the game to it. They made absolutely no secret of it.Nowadays, you should be happy it wasn't the other way around.

It feels a bit weird since Witcher (1) isn't on 360 but I don't care. As a semi-Sony fanboy I feel a tad offended though. Just as long as it don't affect the future PC versions, I have no problems with it.
as long as they focus the development of the game, for PC gamers im fine with it. If they are starting to think about consolizing witcher and make it playable with a blind fold, im not going to dig it - at all.
Lets just hope the console gamers get confused about the story and inventory in the witcher and avoid it - so that CD project focus on PC gamers again :)
