Yes, I know the single player's great too.. I also know I can beat it in the time it takes for my frozen dinner to cook. So, it all comes down to multiplayer. Worth the $50? No fanboy answers please - just honest, justified answers pl0x :) Thanks in advance.
No. CoD4 definitely isn't worth full price. BlockBuster is your friend. They love Call of Duty 4 and have like 3 shelves of it at every BlockBuster I've been to.
And if you don't have a console to rent it for, wait for a price drop.
I played a bit on 360 and was incredibly underwhelmed. I would love to see a PC MP demo like the original CoD just to let me give it a try on PC but I would have to say that it is not worth it at all. If you want some good fun and a quality multiplayer, get the original CoD and United Offensive.
i think its worth the money. All i play is FPS and i have bf2 and all those..and cod4 is way worth it. Most of the maps are good and besides the overuse of nades, i thinkthe game is the fps to get right now.
THe single player experience alone is worth $50 imo, don't believe the anti-hype. The game is not as short as the grapevine suggest. Some of the levels are huge, and the experience is one of the best I have had in 15 years of gaming.
Let me add that you need to play through the entire game before you get to the great missions, my guess is many people who say it sucks only played the first few missions.

What does an experience do for you after you beat the game? Nothing, that's what. Entertainment is entertainment, you should go for the most hours of it you can get for the price.
It *is* worth that. I've currently played 36 hours online. thats pretty good going for that money, and I'm not even half way through my total expected online gaming time for the game. The graphics are excellent, and the gameplay online is greta. leveling up and picking your perks and kit for each match is a game in itself. If you liked COD2, this is COD2 with tons more on top. Hardcore games are wiorth the cost alone. Do it.
Im a FPS whore so trust me its more than worth it unless you seem to think like the others here and like playing the same MP game for 4 years 'cough *CSS* cough'.
Not only do you get one of the best MP FPS experience's but you get a superb single player campaign.
