Is Crysis the most overrated PC game?

Quake 4, Painkiller, Aliens vs. Predator 2, Unreal Tournament, HALF LIFE 1, System/BioShock, Serious Sam 1st & 2nd Encounter, Halo 1, Chronicles of Riddick.

By 2007s standards or by todays standards? Because even today, 6 years after it released, it still looks better than many games coming out.

Crysis looked great and it played great.

Well, the gameplay was great if you were creative.

i didnt buy crysis when it was released in 2007. i kinda gave up on pc gaming around the summer of 2007. But i bought it last september and i find both the graphics and the gameplay to be quite impressive. its not overated i think, although its not even close to a 9,5 out of 10 game like Jason ocampo gave it in 2007.

when i think of the crysis series i think of it as a benchmark.i never enjoyed the campaign that much

Bioshock is overrated. Bioshocks shooting is very boring. 

In the end this is a meaningless debate really because one man's trash is another's treasure in all things, it is cool to see the different tastes people have though.

It's still more fun than both Crysis and HL2 gunplay.

Unlike some here, I found all the Crysis games fun enough. Are they overrated? No. I'd rank the Stalker games, Far Cry, Far Cry 3, and Metro Last Light ahead of the Crysis games for SP play. But, that's it though. I'm not really a big fan of both Half Life games.

Do I think Crysis is over rated? No... I do not. I think Crysis 1 was well deserved of its popularity due to the graphics. Which, are still respectable to this day. But, it was not just a pretty game, it was a good game as well. Crysis 2 took a big hit on the reputation of the Crysis series. Very consolized. I have got to say though, Crysis 3 IMO is amazing!

Its the first game I am playing with my new rig and freakin A are the graphics IN-SANE! Not only that, but the overall quality of the game I feel is top notch. The sound and the over all presentation of the game, The gameplay is solid as well. I think Crysis 3 is big time under rated and I dont think people are giving it a fair shake.

Play Crysis 3 maxed out on a 30 inch 2560x1600 monitor and the beuty is unreal. Awesome gaming experience.

I do think Crysis had amazing graphics for its time, but as a spiritual successor to the (IMO) amazing Far Cry 1, it's a disappointment, especially in gameplay. The fun of Far Cry somehow didn't transfer that well to Crysis. Dragozoid

Gameplay wise, yes Far cry 1 was better. That was an amazing game. Its funny looking back at the similarities. Far Cry 1 First 3 quarters fighting humans then last quarter fighting the monsters, same thing in Crysis.

what game did physics better in a shooter than HL2 back in those days? gravity gun was so much fun and the action sequences were very well done. interesting shooter throughout, compared to others back then.

you could only call it overrated if you don't like shooters at all, or if you compare it more newer shooters.

like others already said, i find Bioshock very overrated. i liked the art style of it, but gameplay-wise it had really nothing to offer.

   I think that Crysis and Warhead were the best single player shooters from the last 10 years, and Crysis Wars was also a very good multiplayer game. I also think that they performed very well and put to shame most of the current videogames in terms of both tech and optimization.

   Crysis 2 and 3? Those ruined the saga, but that's another question.

Definitely overrated.....the original Far Cry was better.

this. haven't been interested in a singleplayer mode of any shooter after Crysis and Crysis Warhead.

no wait, i have Far Cry 3 on my backlog, but that's about it.

In my opinion, I think it just kind of shocked the industry when the first title came out.

Of course, it was all about graphics at launch and all this eye candy seemed to trick people into thinking it's a good game, when it's only decent in my book.
