Is Empire Total War good or bad?

I just played the demo and thought the game was great, looked at the reviews and they are great, but everyone seems to be saying the game is horrible because there are way to many problems with the game so can I get a final verdict is this game good yes or no?

Ignore anyone who tells you not to buy this game. It's great.

One the of best games I have ever played.

It's a fantastic game. If you like strategy games it is a must. If you like games in general it's still a game you should try. It is unbelievably fun and offers plenty of gameplay and replay value.Naruto

One thing that I think is kind of a game breaker is that the CPU doesn't take armies in ships to go attack. So if you're on an island (britain anyone) you're completely safe. Last I heard they were going to fix it a little. Meaning the CPU will have the potential to do this, but sounded like it wouldn't happen much. I'm guessing the code's screwy cause ships are a big focus in this one and have so much more to do than in previous versions.

edit: Oops, just read update 3, which I don't have yet. Basic fix for AI being unable to move army by fleet.
