the mp is great for a while, although full of mmm well I don't think I can say that word. The sp is so bland, not worth the 10$ alone for sure...
Personally, I would keep my 10$ and get DoD:source or something on steam lol
Franko_3
I agree with you on that one, just keep the $10 and get a nice steam game.
Definitely worth ten, lawl at the people saying it isn't worth it.achilles614
i can understand thinking it's not worth $10. it is a 6.5-year old game, after all. personally, i'd get it for $10, but only on steam. retail i wouldn't buy halo for anything more than $5.
I've only played a demo, and it seemed really bland and uninspired. I got the same impression from Farcry. Maybe the story of these games makes up for what's lacking, but the uninteresting atmosphere and gameplay were enough to turn me away for good.
I vote no. Go buy yourself a nice lunch instead.
Anybody who plays Halo know that playing a Halo demo is not even close to the experience of Halo. Not trying to be arrogant but you really have no justice in commenting on Halo by a demo experience.I've only played a demo, and it seemed really bland and uninspired. At a 10 dollar value of course you get Halo. Like a previous poster said the SP alone is worth 10 dollars.
Multiplayer on Halo was awesome, you have to not mind getting killed by rocket noobs ect. but its pretty fun. I think there are still a load of people online i just checked gametracker.com and there are 500 players on Halo.rb2610
If they kill you with a rocket, how are they noobs?

Because it is easy to do on halo, you bunnyhop and aim at their feet and its an easykill.
If you've played any console or PC shooter made in the past 5 years... you've played Halo.foxhound_fox
Totally disagree. Halo is distinct in its gameplay, setting and cast of characters. I won't deny for a second that it heavily borrows from a lot of other games and films, but its definitely not a carbon copy of anything.

They are choosing the easiest way to kill you. I'd understand if you called it boring or that they should try to stick to other kinds of weapons to make the matches more interesting, but "noob" is not the right word here, especially if they succeed. If a person that's new to the game is trying to kill everyone with that method and fails most of the time, that's a noob.

I agree, if anything, other games are trying to copy Halo.

Not wanting to start a big Halo argument here(cause we've been there done that before :P), but thats opinion, and you're really selling the game short by saying that any other shooter in the last five years is equal in quality to Halo. It doesn't have its massive following for nothing.
Some of the stuff I've seen in Forge is absolutely amazing, and its stuff I've never seen before in any game.
Is it just me, or does Halo have some horrible networking issues? I mean, I play games like TF2 and CS:S where I actually shoot AT the person. In Halo, I have to shoot like 3 feet in front of them while they're running lolForerunner-117Sounds like a Netzero user to me.
Wait, I'm a lot older than 12, and I STILL play it at least 2-3 times a month if not more.
Yes there are quite a few immature little snots playing it as well, but there are also quite a few hard core players as well, choose your flavor, there are always around a hundred servers up and running or make your own.
This is also one of my daughter's favorite game. She loves when we play it together, against me or teaming up with each other.
Yes the single player at times drags a little, but I have yet to play a video game that doesn't have that problem at points. The story can't be that bad if it has spawned 4 more games (Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Wars and an original 2D fan made side scrolling shooter) and an upcoming movie.
I bought mine at a resale shop for $10, so if you can get it new for that price why not?? It's only $10, if you like FPS games at all it is worth it. Not to mention once you get that, you are entitled to the Halo Custom Edition for free, and it has tons of customized maps and other content, some good some bad, but most worth a look at the very least.
Now if you are not into FPS's, well then don't bother, otherwise I think at least you won't feel you wasted your money.

Ok, then here's an opinion from someone who played the demo, thought it was alright, then spent $20 on the game. My advice: don't bother, even for $10. Several times I installed this game and tried to get into it. I just couldn't. I can see why console kids love it - it's better than most console FPSes...but as PC FPS games go, it's average at best. I was extremely disappointed in both the singleplayer and multiplayer experiences. Just not worth it in any way.Ok, then here's an opinion from someone who played the demo, thought it was alright, then spent $20 on the game. My advice: don't bother, even for $10. I played Halo right after I finished Call of Duty and United Offensive expansion, and I thought the game held up pretty well.

There's a lot of backtracking in CoD, I can't say that too many people complain about that... A little unfair imo. Maybe it's because Halo is a console-game, shh, don't tell anyone I said that.

Ah, well isn't that nice.
I suppose probably not. I didn't mean it in an offensive way, I own a Wii and love it. I've got a ton of older consoles and play them regularly. But I'm also a FPS junkie, and for that I stick almost entirely to the PC. They're just better on the PC.[QUOTE="dos4gw82"]...Not trying to be arrogant but you really have no justice in commenting on Halo by a demo experience.I've only played a demo, and it seemed really bland and uninspired. Ok....If your experience playing a demo cannot be used to influence your decision to buy a game, why do companies even release demos at all?

"Noob" gun, by what I understand, has alway reffered to a powerfull weapon that requires very little skill to use. It's not so much the player that's the "Noob," it's the gun. Kind of hard to explain. Anyway, when too many people use the same weapon the game becomes boring and frustrating rather quickly.
