That's still 1,440,000 pixels though, which is only about 25% less pixels than 1080p...1600x900 is kinda small.

wow..the opinions seem to be divided.. i dont think i will spend more than 6950 or 560, but if i can spend less but still maxing out those games then i would prefer going that route.. anyone here already using 1600x900 resolution??
Depends on your budget. The 6870 probably makes the most sense from a performance-per-dollar standpoint (only a handful of games will benefit from a higher-power card at at that res), but you're obviously getting a little more future-proof card with a 6950/560 Ti. If you can swing the higher cost without sacrificing quality elsewhere I'd say go with the more powerful card, but otherwise I think most people would be happier with the 6870 and an all-around better rig.
hmm..okay, thanks guys for the replies.. one last question, will my resolution benefit from 2gb 6950 (future-proof wise)?? or should i just get the 1gb version?
I doubt you'll need to 2GB for most games, although a few (like GTA4) would benefit. If it's not much more money it might be a good idea, but if it is I wouldn't bother. I think if you get the 2GB you might be able to flash to a 6970 though, but i'm no expert in that area.hmm..okay, thanks guys for the replies.. one last question, will my resolution benefit from 2gb 6950 (future-proof wise)?? or should i just get the 1gb version?

andGTR* the 560ti and 6950 are the sweet spot of the graphics card industry the perfect price to performance ratio they can handle any game on the market and future ones to boot at medium to high settingsFreakyDeacky2
WOW, I was being sarcastic... if TC wanted, he/she could get a GTX590 or 6990 and not have it overkill.
