Definitely wait. Maybe overclock the processor a bit, but that's it.

I'm upgrading pretty soon, now have dual core CPU AMD , adn a really bad Vid Card GeForce 7500, buying the EVGA GeForce 8800GT SSC, but dont know if I should buy the new quad core CPU from AMD ( Phenom ) , I wont buy intel since my mobo is configured only for AMD CPU's.

The 9 series is coming out in Feb (hopefully) , anyways I want to buy a 8 series card since it offers good features and specs and most importantly a good price.

Your system should be fine for the next year or so due to you having a dual core with a fair gpu, considering that most upcoming games will be using the UT3 engine and other various engines Dunia, Sourece, etc.......some future games like C&C Tiberium the new fps from the C&C series since Renegade, which use the Crytek engine you may have issues then.
